Would much rather Sanders but payton seems to like these good players from shite teams that never won anything, especially if they have an injury history.

Green will be coming back fresh for the playoffs, just like Brees.

I’d like to have Green. If he’s healthy it makes this offense on another level.

I wouldn’t give up much though. Always hurt, last year of contract.

Sanders isn't the image of health, though he does seem to heal well.

Dec 5, 2018 NFL Pedal Achilles Tear Grade 3 Sanders ruptured his right Achilles' tendon in a Wednesday practice, had surgery the following day and missed the rest of the season.
Dec 14, 2017 NFL Pedal Ankle Bruise Sanders suffered a bone bruise in his right ankle against the Colts in Week 15 and missed the final 2 games.
Oct 15, 2017 NFL Pedal Ankle Sprain Grade 2 Sanders sprained his right ankle in the 3rd quarter of Week 6 and missed the following 2 games.
Nov 15, 2015 NFL Hand Finger Sprain/Pull Unspecified Sanders sprained a finger and missed the next game, though the high ankle sprain might have caused that.
Nov 8, 2015 NFL Pedal Ankle (high) Sprain Grade 3 Sanders sprained his left ankle against the Colts. He played on it in Week 10 but left that game early -- with other issues -- and then sat out Week 11. He later revealed it was a high-ankle sprain.
Oct 18, 2015 NFL Shoulder A/C Joint Sprain Sanders sprained the A/C joint in his left shoulder but was able to play through the injury.
Aug 6, 2015 NFL Thigh Hamstring Strain Grade 2 Sanders pulled his right hamstring and sat out the entire preseason. He returned for Week 1.
Nov 16, 2014 NFL Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 Sanders got a concussion after he took a huge hit in Week 11. He was able to make it back the following week.
Nov 2, 2014 NFL Chest Rib Bruise Sanders was taken out of the game after taking a big hit. He was examined and diagnosed with a bruised rib then returned to the game.
Aug 4, 2014 NFL Thigh Hamstring Sprain/Pull Unspecified Grade 1 Sanders sustained a "slight" right thigh strain and missed some preseason time.
Dec 22, 2013 NFL Knee Patella Sprain Sanders left the Week 16 matchup at halftime with a patella sprain and missed the remainder of the game but was able to return to practice.
Dec 16, 2012 NFL Chest Rib Fracture Sanders cracked a rib in Week 15 and left the game in the 3rd quarter. He did not miss the following week's game, though.
Dec 6, 2011 NFL Pedal Foot Sanders missed 3 games with inflammation in his surgically repaired right foot.
Oct 30, 2011 NFL Knee Meniscus Tear Sanders needed arthroscopic surgery to repair his left meniscus. He missed 2 games and then returned after the Week 11 bye.
Aug 1, 2011 NFL Pedal Foot Sanders had bone marrow and calcium injected into his previously repaired left foot to promote healing. He missed the 1st 3 preseason games.
Apr 4, 2011 NFL Pedal Foot Fracture Sanders had surgery in April after developing a stress fracture in his left foot.
Feb 6, 2011 NFL Pedal Foot Fracture Sanders broke a bone in his right foot in the 2nd quarter of the Super Bowl loss to the Packers and required surgery.
Sep 15, 2010 NFL Leg Quad Bruise Sanders lost 3 games to a quad injury that he admitted was worse than he initially believed. He returned after the Week 5 bye.

Acquiring Green makes perfect sense for the Saints.

Not only does adding Green greatly increase the odds that the Saints win the NFC, but it also guarantees you're not playing against him in the Super Bowl.

He may have lost a step, but dang if it wouldn't be interesting to see how he performs in an offense with a much better QB than Andy Dalton.

Someone between Green Bay, New England, Kansas City; New Orleans, San Francisco, or Seattle is going to get him.

That teams takes a big step forward towards being the super bowl representative for that conference

So is this all hearsay, or is this a legit rumor. Wonder what it would take to get him?

I still think you throw a 5th at the Dolphins for Parker.

31 year old wr with foot/leg injuries in back to back years is concerning. That's not to say he comes back from a surgically debrided ankle and not get hurt either.

You bring up a good point. Unfortunately we don't have the assets or cap room to trade for a young healthy stud WR, I don't even know if there are any on the trade block right now. Pretty much left with sorting through older veterans with a lot of wear and tear.

Seems like mostly hearsay, but there have been rumblings about it on the interwebz for a week or two now, and now the betting lines on it are in favor of the Saints.

Vegas always knows. We are obviously inquiring. That doesn't mean we will get him but we have something in play

I think we end up with a pass catcher via trade

Who that is...I’m not sure. But I’m willing to bet the Saints really want Sanders but the Broncos just aren’t willing to trade him which means they will want Green and they want to wait and see him play a game first.

If they get outbid for Green they might try and go for Eifert

Honestly, I don't really care whether it's Sanders or Green. I would prefer Sanders, but both are a significant upgrade over what the Saints currently have, and the lack of WR2 is really hurting us.

We don't need him to be 2012-2013 AJ Green. We need him to be a solid receiver that can get open, won't drop balls, and takes some pressure off of Thomas. Anything more than that is just lagniappe. The Saints need to make this move.

it just seems to me the way he has an injury history that we shouldnt be offering much, but then we dontget him if we dont.

if he is healthy and stays healthy i dont care about giving up draft picks but this seems like betting against yourself hoping to hit the lottery.

maybe if we can do a low draft pick plus a player swap so we dont give up that much or risk that much if he cant stay healthy, then this could be a good move.

its just so hard to know if a players health issues are because they are injury prone or if playing on a bad team is putting them in spots to take unreasonable risks and get injured often

What's Green's worth at this point, a mid round pick?

4th rounder or so?
