Rattler is a 5th round pick drafted by a different coaching staff. He’s a backup.

I’d bet the new staff had seen enough of Rattler to know we needed a QB; thus they chose one in the draft.

I don't care if we took a QB at 9 this year. If there is a guy available at your pick that you think is better than your guy, then you take him.

You can always trade away the guy you got last year.

I thought I read somewhere early this year that CKM wasn't impressed with Rattler. 0-6 is bad. I know we had a dogshit team but at least win 1 game.

I don’t think Arch comes out next year. The Mannings don’t need the money, they aren’t going to want to rush Arch into the pro’s after only 1 full season starting. I know it’s his decision but he’s got some good people guiding him and why not make sure he’s fully prepared to play in the NFL. I think 2027 is more likely to be the year he enters the draft.

Bingo. Arch's NIL money in 2 years will be larger than his entire Rookie Contract.

Hey Mel this is why you have no legitimacy. No one cares about your always wrong “opinions”.

If the Saints do not get a shot at a top QB prospect will you “essentially admit” you know nothing? Will you? Mel? Waiting Mel.

Shough >>>> Rattler. Rattler is the very definition of a 5th round QB. Poor play, bad measurables. The dude went 0-6. You owe him nothing.
WAY too early to make that call, although I highly doubt Moore will make it a competition.

If we're picking in the top 3, none of our QBs will have worked out

I think taking a QB at 40 speaks pretty loudly in that regard

Makes you wonder what the barometer for success will be for Shough. New offensive minded HC, 26 years old, minimal injuries, competent tackles etc. Rattler was playing with the deck severely stacked against him.

Some of you always have the most negative take on everything. How can you possibly make a judgement on Rattler one way or another based on last season. With all of the injuries he was playing with essentially the team you see in the fourth preseason game with most players about to be cut or signed to the practice squad. Shough may prove worthy of the pic. Other teams were also high on him. Let it all play out with hopefully a healthy team around both of them or maybe another year with Carr while the to backups continue to develop. I would sure hate to be judged on my first year in a job, but some of you refuse to see the big picture. This team had the worst season in 20 years mainly due to injuries. The fact the worst season in that previous span was 7 wins speaks volumes for how fortunate this fan base has been to not experience a long spell of poor teams.

CKM this year and make a run at the playoffs.

The current roster especially defensively & at the offensive skill positions is still lacking. This team will finish in the cellar of the NFC South. Look around with what others in the division have added to their rosters. This is a top 5 draft selection in 2026 roster still.

It's not a tough decision you take a QB

I don't get the Ratt hate. DA was the coach where is he. Where is the OC and QB coach. How great was the oline and receivers.
He handled all the sh!t really really well. He didn't fold or blame others or shat himself like we all have seen other rookies qbs do. Moxy? Yeah. Fearless yeah. Future in league? I have no clue.

That’s a lot of greater thans for these numbers

Rattler vs Shough College

399 vs 389 attempts
68.9 vs 62.7comp%
19 vs 23 TDs
8 vs 6 INT
8 vs 8.2 Y/A
147.7 vs 148.1 QB rating

Rattler 23 y/o in SEC
Shough 25 y/o in the ACC

Is Shough really the RAS pick everyone said Loomis & Ireland avoided this year?

KELLEN MOORE DRAFTED HIS GUY THOUGH SO THAT MAKES YOUR POST IRRELEVANT!!!

What a retarded question, the reason the Shough pick is good is because [/b]it’s only a 2nd rd pick…[/b]

You do realize the objective with draft picks in rounds 1-3 is to find starters & immediate impact players. So if Shough doesn't pan out the selection would be a waste when it could have been used to draft a player at another position who could have been a starter or impact guy.

It is not our judgement. This was our FO's judgment. We took a QB rd 2 instead of a WR, that should give you the obvious answer on how they feel about Rattler.

Throw in the fact that we didn't draft any WR's and that tells me they are more confident Shough has a pulse even with mediocre receivers.

Maybe we drafted the next Josh Allen and maybe he's a bust. Atleast we have something to look forward to.

This is not about really shuck vs rattler. It’s about bringing talent into the room and shortly showing Carr the exit door

Rattler

Showed NOTHING. Even with the games where he had an OL, RB, and WR that he could be that guy.

Move on. he isn't him.

If Ratt had played 16 games in his first year would his record have been worse than Aikmans first year? Never know of course.
