Peterson is interesting to consider. If he is interested in trying to prolong his career and win a potential championship, this isn't a bad place to be.

He can fill the Hightower role. Rush for 130-150 carries. That should keep him healthy and allow him to be effective. If Ingram were to get hurt, you have a capable backup.

Other things for him to consider, our line is better than Minnesota's. Brees is a much better QB than Bridgewater. Because of our passing game, he won't have to run against stacked boxes all of the time. He probably only has a couple of seasons left, which coincides with the Brees window, so the front office is all in on a championship now.

I take it someone didn't know that Peterson's nickname is actually AD.

I wouldn't mind AP either if it was for a cheap deal and he didn't mind splitting with Ingram.

I think AP can still be effective in small doses. Use him like we did Hightower. Give him 10-15 carries and give Ingram 10-15 and that will do wonders for the offense.

I still don't think it's him, though.

It's got to be someone in the secondary. I'd like McDonald, he's young and is solid depth. And I'd be intrigued by someone like Revis. He fell off hard last year, but he's bound to have 1-2 years left in him. Either way, I like the names that are left in FA and I hope it's someone who can come in and contribute.

Also, jokes aside, he is technically still under contract so they wouldn't even be able to "bring him in" if they wanted to.

Not sure about the back and forth here....but....
Mickey Loomis has very little to do with talent evaluation.....that has been all on CSP...and it has been disastrous!!!!
The only hope we have in turning this dumpster fire 7-9 organization around....
1) Jeff Irland continues to do a good job and hits a home run in this draft .....
2) finally after 10 years of incompetence CSP finally fired the good ole boys, and hopefully the new coaches will be a huge improvement.
3) Drew Bress stays for 2-3 years....

Browns need to just let that guy go and let him blossom somewhere else.

Some Twitter folks said they saw Butler at MSY today.

Signing Gordon would be a great move, hopefully he's learned his lesson.

We resigned John Phillips, but that's not who Payton was talking about.
