No human deserves to make 23 million a year. Except maybe Jack Bauer and he's fictional.
If Drew can get that, then good for him. He deserves to be the highest paid player in the league, but not by 3 million a year

Stating it is a rumor doesn't stop a lot of people from buying into it. It makes it worse when you claim to have a "source". That automatically implies to many that you have some information they don't and therefore your ridiculous theories are more likely than their own.
There was a rumor about Parcells on here last week with an unnamed "source". It actually was accurate since as of right now Parcels is our coach for next season and it was announced last week. Oh ... wait.
Brees will get a deal, but I doubt 23 million is likely. 5 million apart and cap space issues and yet they give in to his starting bargaining position? Also, Manning got 19 million and while Brees arguably deserves more it probably won't be 4 million more. I would guess maybe 20-21 million in a compromise deal between the two sides.

Y'all can all be naysayers but I have a notion that clooneyisgod's rumor is true. There are a lot of people on here with good sources. Just about all of the rumors have turned out to be true except those from obvious flamers.

While I understand what you are saying, realize that this isn't the Rant where rumors fly around everyday. With all due respect, your first Saints Talk post in a very long time was at the end of March. The guys who are here everyday and have been, know clooney and he doesn't come spread rumors just for the hell of it. It is plausible that some posters here might actually have sources within the organization. With that said, I treat it as a rumor, and move on. If it comes true, great, if not....no big deal.
I do remember a couple of years ago, a poster came here saying that Marques Colston was having surgery and was going to miss 6-8 games. The dude was roasted. The next day, it was reported. Ever since then, I've held judgement on rumors.

I am not sure how they could do a 5 year/$115 million deal unless there was a huge signing bonus and the last two years were pretty heavily loaded (therefore allowing for a restructure after 3 years). It would seem a 6 year/$115 million deal would be more achievable.
