Kellen Moore was like 6th or 7th down the list.

The other “top” candidates said “Thanks, but no thanks.”

The franchise is run by a clown that struck gold with Brees and that one draft where 7th rounders became all pros.

He has the greatest and unparalleled job security in professional sports.

He is a trustee for the Benson trust.

He won’t be fired. Why would he fire himself?

Just be happy that we have one of only 32 of these franchises in the world.

The bigger question is what happens when a new owner purchase the team. Do they keep the franchise here or cut bait and move it somewhere else?

Again this isn't true and there is no way for you to prove it because we had to wait until after the Super Bowl window

Johnson wasn't going anywhere but Chicago

You wanted Joe Brady that badly? No

I believe the coaches who were interviewed were:

Kellen Moore
Mike Kafka (Giants OC)
Anthony Weaver (Dolphins DC)
Darren Rizzi (Saints interim HC)
Joe Brady (Bills OC)
Aaron Glenn (Lions DC)

I don't believe Kingsbury and McCarthy were ever interviewed.

The only ones to get 2nd interviews were Moore, Kafka, and Weaver. Saints were also the last team to fill their head coaching vacancy that cycle, but might have been because they couldn't announce Moore til after the SB.

This is true.

And, it says a lot about Moore as well.

But, maybe you could get a retread type who could come in and at least fix the culture and bring energy and effort. Maybe a Dan Campbell if things keep going south in Detroit. Or, Quinn when he gets fired in Washington.

I cant pretend to be upset about losing out on any of those. Joe Brady is intriguing but lets not act like he was the perfect hire either

Im not gona over react on the start of the season. Too many games left in a bad division

No

A shite product that is poorly run is still a shite product that is poorly run.

This defeatist attitude is sad.

Look I wasn't a big fan of Moore and he doesn't seem to be great, but he was a MUCH higher quality of candidate than what we thought we'd get at that time.

I appreciate your pragmatic optimism, but what do you see that makes you think you will feel more positive come late season?

It definitely wasn't an attractive job, but the rumors are that McCarthy wanted it but we didn't want him and that Brady was interested but we made it clear we wanted Moore.

Rough list of candidates. Wish we were a little more proactive and got a chance to get Ben Johnson.

Pretty sure McCarthy wanted that job after getting fired in Dallas. At this point I rather him than Ellen.

You really want a coach that can’t win with Goff, Gibbs, st Browne, Laporte and Williams. Also a good kicker to come coach this group of non talent?
