Just looking to see how other WRs who ran similarly turned out. A lot of no-nameWRs, but here are some guys who have stuck around.
Devin Funchess 4.70
Ricky Seals-Jones 4.69
Michael Thomas 4.56
Geronimo Allison 4.67
Jamison Crowder 4.56
Willie Sneed 4.62
Jarvis Landry 4.65
Kelvin Benjamin 4.61
DeAndre Hopkins 4.57
Mohamed Sanu 4.62
Brandon LaFell 4.58
Marcell Ateman 4.62
Looking over the last ten years, there are only a few WRs who ran over a 4.7 at the combine. Looks like some of those guys were converted (or tried to be converted) to TE. Somebody compared him to Boo Williams.

The rest aren't really close to 4.75
You can mange in that 4.65 range. Or if you are Jarvis Landry and don't run more than 4-5 yard routes but run precise routes, you can run 4.75

Lester you are right here. It would be an extreme outlier for him to make it.
Having watched Humphrey play a good bit though it’s a shame because he can really play football.

I think he can be a practice squad guy potentially. He's a long shot but most of these guys are.
He's not near the athlete Cordarelle Patterson is but maybe with his RB back round they can find a niche role for him like that.

All UDFAs are long shots.
I do think that the guy can just play football, and sometimes those guys make it despite some physical limitation. Happens pretty often.

Exactly.
Lots of young talent and just adds one more piece to the competition in camp.
The Saints know his speed guys I bet they really do and yet they saw a fit.

CSP should post this thread in his locker for motivation. Maybe he’s a chip on the shoulder type of guy.
He takes handoffs a lot in his hype videos, I wonder if that’s an aspect of his game that gives him a shot. Maybe he’s on the field with Taysom Hill under center as another potential running option who can also break off and run a route just to add some more confusion to those sets?

Jarvis Landry didn't run just 4 or 5 yard routes with the browns this year.
I get what your saying because Jarvis has quickness

You spend a ridiculous amount of time arguing.....for the sole reason of arguing.
I sincerely hope you are single. It would have to be exhausting and debilitating living with your contrarian arse.

I hope you’re single too. I’d hate to be your wife knowing you send dick picks to women on togerdroppings

Geronimo Allison did well at the end of the year. At best, I think Humphrey can find a role as an underneath matchup problem against teams with smaller corners or slower linebackers. Best case, he ends up like a Sanu who has that one or two games where he has a handful of catches to extend drives.
Worst case he’s an UDFA that doesn’t make the team. Onomi Ojo award winner!

What other UFA WR would you have brought in?
I really wanted us to bring in David Sills from WVU
He ended up being an UDFA to Buffalo

Watching highlights he reminds me more of Colston than anyone. Big possession wr that looks like he can move the chains. He definitely has a shot to make this roster.

Colston was 6'5” 225lbs, and ran a 4.50 and 4.55 at the combine.

Think Young Dez!!!
Well Young Dez was a 1st round pick.
Lil'Jordan didn't get drafted.
I'm gonna pump those breaks and see if he even makes it to training camp.

I skimmed through this thread and didn't see it mentioned (but it may have been). Take it with a grain of salt but:
quote:
He timed the 40-yard dash with a laser-timed best of 4.75 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine; Humphrey chalked it up to poor preparation, and performed much better at the Longhorns’ pro day. His hand-timed numbers there ranged from 4.55 seconds to 4.61

Get a stopwatch and stop at 4.39 and stop at 4.7.
Notice how much of a difference that is.
When you are running a route.
There are other factors involved.
Wait 8 people upvoted this

If LJH runs 4.39 he goes in the top 10.
4.7 doesn’t get you drafted
If you think there isn’t a huge difference in those two times you’re suspect
