Not crazy about Howell but I’d take that first round. Starting to think Penning won’t be there at 16 though.

I don't hate it.

Not really a fan of Howell but I guess most experts will peg us to pic a QB with one of the first 3 picks but I would be happy with a Penning/Olave first.

Switch Howell with a guy like Christian Harris (LB) or Dylan Parham (OG) and I would be thrilled. Those players got picked soon after Howell in their mock.

I like Kenneth Walker (RB) at 49.

Yeah... Which sucks. I think he's gonna be a stud.

The only time the consistent mocks gave us the right guy was Sheldon Rankins

Would rather not draft a QB in the first 3 rounds.

Penning is nasty I'd be happy with that

Would rather one of the better safeties in the second round like Jaquan Brisker or Nick Cross. Or just double up on stud receivers since George Pickens was still on the board.

Before the 2020 season Howell would have been pretty darn close to the top of all college qbs. Maybe the supporting cast leaving hurt his output? Maybe other teams just caught on to the simplified offensive scheme?

Longo, UNC OC, was previously at Ole Miss and his famous quote was that he only ran 20 plays.

Howell and Corral are very similar to me - both players lost a lot of supporting cast in their last season of college and it definitely hampered their performance overall, which has devalued their draft stock.

The UNC/Phil Longo offense is mickey mouse AF, and Lane's offense for Corral @ Ole Miss doesn't exactly scream NFL breeding ground material either for a QB.

Howell definitely has some tools and potential, but I would rather have some other team explore them.

Both offenses were very RPO-heavy with single pass reads. Makes for a difficult evaluation when it comes to projecting pro play. I think I could be fine with an investment in a mid round (2-4) on a guy like that if they think he truly projects. Drafting one high with a starting expectation would be a disaster though.

I love that pick. Too many don’t realize how big a need RB is. Who know how long Kamara May get suspended or his history of injury prone seasons. We need another RB who can be a playmaker

Why? Let’s hear your thorough analysis on why penning won’t be that good

I'll take that draft All day!

I think Howell is going to be a solid QB.
