Idk. He is a big question mark for me.
Usually you can point to something to explain why a 5thbyear senior blew up, but I dont See it here.
He was someone you draft in the 6th or not at all for 4 years and boom.
And he has the same OC for the last 4 years. His top WR was a Sophmore, but that makes me way more interested in the WR.
Idk what to say about him.

I just don't understand why we assume this b/c he didn't do anything for FOUR years and had one pretty good (but nowhere close to amazing) year. He wasn't running some complicated scheme, either (although he was in one light years ahead of Willis or Corral's offense).

I’ve been watching videos of this years QB class,
Howell is the one who seems to stand out, at least to my ignorant arse.

Bc of he’s pretty consistent - he can thrive out of the pocket an in rhythm, as opposed to a guy like Willis where you have to get him on the move.
His arm strength is pretty good and he does pretty well at short, intermediate, and deep throws. He’s just solid all around but the upside is limited.
So for me conventional wisdom tells be he’s malleable and can fit right away into multiple systems and perform early. Maybe it turns out last year at Pitt was lightning in a bottle,but who knows. FWIW I would take Corral for the upside bc he’s a better athlete with more arm talent, but to each their own.

When was the last time Pitt had been in a BCS/NY6 bowl? And Pickett turned up his nose. Tells me all I need to know.

I think Howell and Willis are the only guys worth gambling on and that would require late 1sts at most (but honestly more likely 2nds).
Howell has shown a lot more than Pickett in the same conference over 3 years. I can only imagine what he'd do to the ACC 2 years from now (to put him at his 5th year like Pickett was this year).
Willis, obviously, has the most physical upside.

I think it's impressive that Pickett lead them to a NY6 Bowl - that's not easy to do. The ACC was pretty weak last year though, but impressive nonetheless.
