Is Zack Baun a bust at this point?

Admittedly I'm not super familiar with the intricacies of the linebacker position, but if Kaden Elliss is our second best healthy linebacker.. oooffffff
I get he was only a 3rd round pick but damn. Was a lot of hype on this board for him when drafted

Seems to be a bad fit for this D. But since he hasn't been tradable perhaps bust is the correct answer.

I think the story is more of how good Ellis is. He should be on the field even if Werner and Davis are healthy, put Ellis at DE.

He's been a bust
But he's solid on ST and probably can stay with us for dirt cheap forever doing that, so I'm fine with him being around

Always seemed he was playing the wrong position. Everything about the guy coming out of Wisconsin was about him being a really good edge rusher. The year we selected him he had 12.5 sacks and 19.5 TFL's.

he's had a few bright spots and is a solid football player, but he doesn't fit schematically.

He is Hau’oli Kikaha all over again. Kikaha was a great edge rusher in college but had injuries and not the speed to be a great 3-4 OLB edge rusher in the NFL but not really big enough to play 4-3 DE either so he was just a guy without a position. Baun reminds me of him except at least Kikaha had a few decent moments.
