Can we discuss Breakers football on this board?
I mean... it's definitely not Saints.. and they aren't playing in New Orleans this year.. but I don't want to venture beyond to the More Sports Board and treat it like the WNBA..
I want it to become something real.. and I would think this lot of assholes may try to like it too..

I'd be for it
what's it gonna hurt?
it's a football team representing NOLA while the Saints are out of season

They’re not terrible but they look like a generic football team on a cheesy Disney movie

Yeah.. I think just one thread for all the Breakers talk is good enough

Well it is closer to the WNBA than the Saints
One thing I want to know about this new league. Why? Who asked for this? I can’t name anybody in it.

Well. . . What if an Onome Ojo type guy shows up on a Breakers roster?
Obviously not him since he has to be in his 40's... but there could be some Saints camp superstars around..
Btw.. whose on this team?

I’m down for Breakers talk. I’ve been a Breakers fan since the early 80’s.

No Breakers Talk. This is a SAINTS board.

More football isn't necessarily a bad thing, and you have to consider that since NFL Europe was shut down the NFL is the only pro league without a developmental farm league. The XFL, IFL, USFL, AAFL, etc. can all lead to backdoor opportunities for guys that missed the NFL boat the first time around. The major downside to these leagues? With the exception of indoor, the quality of football goes wayyyy down. Everyone is almost a pure passing team, but almost no one can catch or run a decent route. Defense is equally lackluster with blown assignments and subpar tackling efforts. It's JV football at its "finest." Except FCF...that is pure shite.

I think the quality will be fine if it stays around for a few years. There will be some bad football the first year, but to say it's JV is too far. I remember when the AAF started. Some oddsmakers online were saying that if an AAF team played Bama (2019) the AAF team would likely be a touchdown to double digit favorite.
I love football. I think a development league is a great idea as long as it's not my money.

This isn’t “NOLA Football Talk”

On the topic of non-Saints related New Orleans football...I'm convinced that the only thing that got in the way of the Voodoo having the largest following in the arena league and becoming a dynasty was Katrina.
It was wild to see how popular that team became.
