If this year is actually "the year" to win with Brees, what draft move would you make?

Basically the title...

If this is the year to win, what kind of move up in the draft would you tolerate?

Like what would your anger level be if we actually have up two 1sts to move up 10-12 spots on the draft to get "our guy"

Wouldn’t be mad at all but the only guys worth that is chase,Simmons and maybe Okudah or one of the top 4 tackles

No way chase falls and Okudah and simmons are unlikely to fall

Two firsts is a crazy amount to give up to move into the early teens. It just doesn’t make sense to trade away THAT much capital for a rookie linebacker/we/ o lineman for a one year overlap with Brees. The odds of that player being the difference in a Super Bowl or not are extremely low.

I’d honestly be more ok with giving that up to move for a qb that the coaches were enamored by. I’d rather take a shot at the next 15 years than 1.

Saints need to stockpile picks not trade them away at this point

That’s what is would take. That is the value there. If Simmons slides there I’d pull the trigger on that in a heart beat.

Why? Is there a bunch of holes in our roster that I’m unaware of?

That’s fine. To me that’s silly to trade for a one year overlap with Brees. If you’re giving up that kind of return for an all in kind of roll the dice move, I think you do it for a proven nfl player that you feel would help this team get to another level.

To get a franchise qb? Yes. But Drew’s replacement is still “already in the building.”

We need offensive and defensive lineman. It was painfully obvious in the playoffs.

You can argue offensive line but our defensive line is stacked. Maybe another edge rusher to rotate in but that isn’t a need.

CJ Henderson, Murray, or Patrick Queen.

If our core defensive line can stay healthy we're fine. We need to stop losing our top guys for multiple games. Come on bench guy, get hurt so our Rankins and Davenport's don't have to

We’ve done well with 2nd and 3rd round picks under Ireland...Gardner-Johnson, Marcus Williams, Alvin,
Trequan, McCoy, Michael Thomas... we need to stop trading up and losing picks in this range. I’d take 2nd’s for that first.

Isaiah Simmons is pretty much the exact linebacker you would design if you had create a player for this defense. That is our biggest hole on the team, olb.

But hes getting mocked in top 5. I'm not sure 2 1sts is even the beginning of what wed have to give up for that.

Well if we're talking hypothetical "all-in" draft moves I think Simmons or Okudah would really elevate our defense. Offensively I would love to have Jeudy or one of the top OTs.

If it's Simmons, no anger at all. You put him in that LB corps with Davis and you have two guys that can do so many things from the middle of the field

I mean...if we wanted to give up picks we could try to trade a couple firsts for a young vet player who can help us for 1 or 2 years instead of hoping for a rookie to step in.

I like pick 24 a lot in this draft

If we are going to make moves I want it to be like last year

A current 2nd for a future second. I know you have to wait on those deals but potentially

24 LB
Trade a future 2nd rounder for a current 2nd = WR
3rd OL
4th CB
Etc

Down a pick next year but fully engaged for a title run this year and next.
