The saints saturate the market like no other team in the NFL. Go look at the no call superbowl ratings when we boycotted to get a better idea.

Pittsburgh has 3-4 times more population in its metro area than New Orleans.
Pittsburgh’s MSA is 2.370 million, NOLA’s MSA is 1.272 million.

So less Pittsburgh is less than twice as large as NOLA.

We can’t write insurance on area homeowners and can’t protect fans vehicles during games.

Crappy streets, rampant crime and declining population combined with electing Teedy types are a sure fire way to get the Saints out.

If the new ask for NFL teams is $6M there is no local group buying after Gayle. Borrowed time IMO.

Jesus. As if Detroit, DC, and Chicago are well-governed. Also, the buyer of NFL teams are rarely from the area, that has nothing to do with relocating the team. The Walton family is not from Denver. Terry Pegula is not from Buffalo (another wonderful place to live). Jimmy Haslam is not from Cleveland (yet another tourist destination).

You are correct , the statue in front of the Dome should be of Paul Taglibue not Benson! I remember that fricker was threating to move the Saints to San Antonio until the NFL stepped in to calm his pocketbook down.

This website is always itching to shite on NOLA. When there’s no bad news they’ll create it.

Saints leave because we’re such a small market. We’re passionate but small.

The Saints have a big fan base. We have been the ninth most televised team since 2013.

Only thing that sucks is seeing nearly every single franchise now get a new stadium or release renderings of one and we're over here putting patches on ours nearly every year. All the money they have spent on renovating the dome they could've built a new one by now.

What exactly is it that the Saints or New Orleans would get from a completely new stadium that they can't get from renovations?

I would never want to change the location of the Dome, or its basic external appearance. Those are engrained in the city and the culture of the team.

The Super Dome is a turd. Polishing a turd doesn’t change it from being a turd.

If we all don’t pitch in to finish the renovations at St. Louis Cathedral, Mrs. Benson could very well move the team out of spite.

I have no problem making it known that I hate em BUT, the last thing I want is for the aints to leave. We'd never get another franchise, the fifty something ranked TV market. What other corp brings the millions into the states economy that the aints do?
Plus I get to go see my Dolphins every five years when they come here

Build the Pelicans a new riverfront arena, expand Yulman to its' 50k max, demolish SKC and the Superdome once the new Pelicans digs are finished, build a ridiculously huge stadium within the footprint currently occupied by the Superdome/SKC. Saints play at Yulman for 2 years. Not a difficult plan to come up with. The difficulty is going to find the funding for said plan.

Superdome is plenty big. Unless you're planning to attract World Cup soccer, new NFL stadiums max out in the 60-70k range + suites. It's a TV game. Superdome already has more seating than the new Falcons and Rams/Chargers stadiums.

Thank you

Many Saints fans don’t like admitting this.

Benson did do a good job of rehabilitating his legacy

But I’ll never forget it

I was in Tiger Stadium for the Saints games that LSU

Graciously allowed the Saints to play

The neighborhood around Yulman would lose their absolute fricking minds.

The lawsuits would come hot and heavy.

I’ve been to football games all over the country. Brand new stadiums an all.

And I can say there is no more comfortable venue than the Superdome. Not really any bad seats, and always 72 degrees. The outdated part is the decor, it has all the amenities and premium seating all the other new stadiums have. Ohh and it’s in prime location, possibly the best out of any NFL stadium in the league.
