Tyson is a pick you make if you are a player away and can take a risk on injuries. The Saints are not. Bain I do not trust. None of these WR are worth top 10, especially when you can get WR talent later in the draft.

Or if you have one of the worst wr rooms in the league and a promising young qb… which we do

Go take a look at our WR room.

I feel like I’m living on another planet from you people.

Maybe you don’t pick a WR there, but to dismiss it when we might have the worst room in the league is something else.

i dont disagree, but you can get WR later and get an impact defender at 8 or *crosses fingers* love

ideally we get love/downs/delane at 8 and get wr at 40

You can get any position later.

You are 100% correct Bunch. I’ve been preaching the same thing lol. Olave gets hurt and we are in SERIOUS trouble.

I mean you can get anyone later but this class isn’t as deep as you think. There’s tier 1 which is lemon , Tate , Tyson. Then a handful of tier 2 guys like your Chris bell’s , Boston , Concepcion, and a couple more. And then it’s a pretty steep drop off imo. If the bottom half of the first has a run on wrs it could really be slim pickings at 42. Bottom line is our offense needs to score more points this year and having a wr as good or better than Olave would go a LONG way in making that a real possibility.

I'd be more worried about Bain if he were a one dimensional bull rusher in college. According to many pro evaluators he has the most refined and full tool box of counter moves of any of the edges in this draft. He dominated against IU's O-Line that was build of 4th thru 6th year starters in the championship game. Like Mike D said, Mendoza gets all the press and rightfully so because of IU's win but Bain was the best player on the field for that championship game.

Tyson worries me much more than Bain.

Having said that, IMO Downs or Delane should be the pick.

Look, Delane/Downs are my picks. If we take Tyson or Tate I won't be too upset since we know we're lacking in the WR room.

I like the potential of Vele, Polk, and Palmer, sure. None of those guys really move the needle IMO.

If we take a WR I hope it's at 40, but there's no reason to say taking one of the top available at 8 is a mistake.

No player that will be available at 8 is worth a top 10 pick most years. Not sure how people still don’t understand this

I'm cool taking Bain if Downs is gone. If it comes down to Bain/ Delane then either would be a great addition to the defense. I would be disappointed if we went WR knowing we can get high potential in the 2nd rd.

I would just prefer to go Bain/ Delane and then a WR at #42 > going Tyson/ Tate and then CB/ Malachi Lawrence at #42.

You cannot be upset about ending up with any of Tyson/ Tate/ Bain/ Delane as a worst case scenario. Disappointed if its WR but I'll stay optimistic that it will have the biggest positive impact.

The Saints are a rebuilding team and should be in talent acquisition mode. If you think Bain or a WR is the most talented prospect at your pick, you take them.

That would be a dream start to the draft imo. I think Malachi could end up being as good or better than Bain when it’s all said and done

Obviously, it's way too early to know who will be available at 8. But the news about Mauigoa's back, tells me that there is a strong possibility that we will see Mendoza go #1, then Love & 6 defenders from 2 - 7.

And without knowing how the valuations went, seeing the concerns about Downs & Delane in Staley's defense; there is a very good chance that the best available player could be a WR.

This is the most ridiculous comment I think I've read here.

Get that tiny arse armed MF as far away from here as possible. His arms are so short he literally falls into the "do not draft early" category. One all pro edge rusher in NFL history has had arms as short as his. Micah Parsons. He ain't Parsons.

If you go through the arm measurements for every prospect this year, a lot of them are very short. I believe they either measured arms differently or incorrectly this year at the combine. Either that, or the COVID vaccine shriveled up these kids arms before they could fully develop.
