So ownership transfers over to Gayle. I know nothing about her business acumen but it's certainly not of the same skills that made Tom a billionaire. I know Tom probably checked out of decision making a while ago but I'm leary of having Gayle simply defer responsibility to Lauscha and Loomis. The team does need some accountability at the top.

Gayle didn't sign up to be an owner of 2 major sports franchises and she just inherited a couple billion dollars worth of assets. My expectation is that she cashes out and moves on. Then what? I'm not sure of any Louisiana tied individual with the funds to take on an NFL team. Consider, the superdome isn't new and we've now got St. Louis, Oakland and San Diego with no NFL franchises. My concern going forward will be that Gayle cashes out and a new buyer comes in and lands a new stadium in one of those cities.

Didn't she play a major role in Tom buying the Pelicans?

I think she will ensure that the team is sold to someone that will keep it in New Orleans.

She married the owner of the Saints and helped with the acquisition of the Pels. I'd say she had a good idea this might be possible.

I mean there's also the fact that the league approved her as owner a year ago so she knew this would happen sooner or later.

This isn't some sudden surprise.

Calm down dude, the saints aren't going anywhere. I'm a bit concerned about the Pelicans future though. AD needs to stay in god-mode to keep the attendance up

The future is the same. Saints and pelicans will be here. Yep you're dumb.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see her see the Pels & keep the Saints. I don’t think the Pels in Nola are sustainable over the long run

Anybody know the extent of her and her late husband's interest in horse racing beyond their (?) Derby entry recently?

California is not getting another NFL franchise... they can't get anyone to show up for the four they already have.

This is football country. Saints are fine. Would love to see the Pels here long term is the real question.

Like the Spurs are going to let any other sports franchise move there.
