Deonte Harris could be the best returner of all time.

Forgive me, but this isn’t hyperbole. Yesterday he averaged 14.75yds per punt return. That’s an absolutely insane stat, and many will dismiss it as a one off, but look at his average last year, 9.4yds per return as a rookie. It’s not inconceivable that he average 10.5yds a return, not to mention his utilization on offense.

Jeff Ireland is a fricking wizard.

He’s incredible. Seemed like for the longest time, we were legit happy to get any positive return yards.

What he did yesterday was super impressive.

He’s better than Mel Gray.

Really want to get him involved in some quick screen passes on offense. Dude is fast as hell.

They did that at least twice yesterday for decent gains. I keep saying that he is going to be a bigger part of the offense itself this season. Hope I’m right.

I hope you are right and i hope you are wrong.

Really would be great to have an established returner and be set for years

On the other hand. He looks too good to be pigeonholed to that role. The more comfortable he gets in the offense they may phase him off of that

Payton hasn’t hesitated to put offensive weapons in the return game, so I don’t think his role as a returned would really be impacted.

You can’t keep someone as dynamic as he is off the field. I hope they continue to find ways to get the ball in his hands.

His size/shiftiness reminds me a lot of Dante Hall.

Yeah Payton doesn't use him enough.
He didn't use taysom enough either yesterday
They should have at least 1 trick play to taysom a game where he throws deep

He’s in that Mel Gray/Brian Mitchell stratosphere for sure.

His patience on those returns were what was really impressive. He waited for his blockers to get set up, then hit the jets. He will make a game changing play that wins us a game this year.

Agreed, mate - he’s electric and steady AF. Great combination for a returner

Devin Hester... but Deonte is very good, and as he even further acclimates to the speed and nuance of the NFL, he'll get up there, but Hester was on a whole 'nother level....

Harris has a chance to be on hester’s level.

He truly is the greatest returner in football. And just like last year, id be shocked if he doesnt return 1 or 2 this year

Electric. He can be a superstar as long as he eliminates the mistakes and fumbles. With a year's experience, he looked much more comfortable yesterday.

Way more comfortable. Night and day difference a year makes.

He will never be able to hold the same place in my heart as The Beer Man, though.

Agreed. He creates excitement every time he receives a punt. Especially when he catches it on the run.

His instincts are off the charts tbh. Dude makes some crazy cuts.
