Dennis Allen or Bust

There are other options that would be good, but honestly, none of them are as sensible as promoting Dennis Allen and making sure we have an elite defense from here on out. The best thing, though, is that he had his best performance as DC with the team he should be the head coach of.

Allen as the HC would be perfect for Brady.
Allen seems like the type that would give Brady total autonomy over the offense unlike Ja Rhule.

Dennis Allen has to be one of the worst coaches in football. He would be ABYSMAL as a HC. He’s a garbage arse DC. The only reason the Defense is decent is because Ryan Nielsen has the DL playing unstoppably.
I’d rather see Nielsen be given the gig if we had to hire in-house.

My goodness we have found it. The worst take ever. Congrats
Dennis Allen is an elite DC and top 5 in the league. He is an absolute miracle worker on defense. He took over a historically bad defense and brought it to where it is today. Dominant! Even years up to this point where we may have started slow and looked bad in the beginning of a year he has been able to make adjustments and turn the defense around.

Carmichael has been dealing with Payton 's offense since day 1. Why would we give the play calling to Payton's gopher, who failed miserably in Carolina, rather than the guy who can keep Payton's play calling and scheme intact. Brady at LSU was a one hit wonder mainly because the QB had finally figured out the QB position.

Dont necessarily disagree but lets be honest about Carolina. He was kind of a scapegoat for Rhule who thought it would be a good idea to trade for Sam Darnold after trading Bridgewater 1 year into a major deal.
Rhule is in over his head. Not sure how much Brady contributed to that or not

Agreed. If we don’t keep Carmichael, let him call plays, and promote Allen to HC, I will never forgive the front office if it fails. This is the smart, easy thing to do. We were injuries away from winning the division again. No need to shake things up.

Does he want it?
Carmichael actually is the perfect mentor-compliment to Brady, but they'd both have to work together which is the issue.
I think Brady's head is very big and he feels above that.

Then I'm fine with an Allen/Carmichael/Nielsen trio.
We're not likely to have a shot at the SF OC and Daboll is going to the Giants, so no reason to blow things up when good options aren't there.

I believe we need to grab a former head coach or a great OC who is HC ready.
I also think we need a QB1; SP saw the writing on the wall. No QB1, diminished WR core and multiple cap issues.
We need Dennis Allen to run our defense.

A guy that has literally never had another offer to be a coach anywhere in the better part of a decade.
He’s a garbage DC propped up by Nielsen’s D Line (which is why Nielsen got the assistant HC gig because people actually would want to hire him for something)
Everybody in the league knows Allen is a fraud. Payton’s biggest black eyes on his coaching career is keeping friends on staff. Allen and Carmichael bring very little to the table
