Reminder “NATO Expansion” is Russian propaganda
Posted by AFATiger on 3/8/22 at 3:57 am
Don’t fall for that lie. NATO did not expand. Countries in Eastern Europe willingly decided to apply to join to be a part of NATO. They agreed to defend us and vice versa, with a unanimous vote of all current members countries.
“NATO expansion” is a term that the Kremlin uses without acknowledging that those countries joined us. We in NATO didn’t force them to join.
Remember, the Russian and Chinese governments will lie to your face in an emotional and official capacity. Don’t take anything they say at face value. They have straight up lied a lot in recent weeks.

re: Foremost Ukraine experts: This War is the USA's fault
Posted by AFATiger on 3/8/22 at 3:41 am to JJJimmyJimJames
Ah yes, I got in my uniform, wearing an American flag, and invaded Ukraine. How the literal frick is it anyones fault other than Putin? Look, we may not have been perfect, but I never blatantly shot cruise missiles at apartment buildings, nor have I used illegal weapons against civilians. I also never put landmines on negotiated evacuation routes. Congrats! You are supporting the modern day tyrant, and blaming your own republic for his atrocities
Don’t get so bogged down in the stupidity that you forget the big picture. Putin’s regime is currently being evil

How about we hire the guy that will win games
Agreed. If we don’t keep Carmichael, let him call plays, and promote Allen to HC, I will never forgive the front office if it fails. This is the smart, easy thing to do. We were injuries away from winning the division again. No need to shake things up.
If we do just that and we still suck, then by all means go clean house.

Why worry about that when he can hire Joe Brady!?

Dennis Allen or Bust
Posted by AFATiger on 1/25/22 at 9:34 pm
There are other options that would be good, but honestly, none of them are as sensible as promoting Dennis Allen and making sure we have an elite defense from here on out. The best thing, though, is that he had his best performance as DC with the team he should be the head coach of.
100% he should be our guy.
100% he should be our guy.
Oh I want him. Not going to pretend otherwise. I always hate to see a Louisiana guy of that level of talent go anywhere else, but given his situation. I realistically think we never had a chance. It sucks, but I’ve come to terms with it.

Legit was going to roll in the 1980 jokes if Bama won. No one was safe
Geaux away Big 12 weirdo. You will never understand our culture of always melting
re: What did we really learn last night
Posted by AFATiger on 1/11/22 at 8:51 am to FreddieMac
We learned that Georgia is finally at the big boys table. It was about time. They earned it.
We also learned that it’s another year without aggy at the big boys’ table, and that they’ll have to be constantly reminded that they aren’t allowed if Ole Piss has a more recent natty than them.

College football should be played on Saturday night. Any other time is a sin

Not really. Feel like torch is being passed. Was hoping we could be the ones to take it over by BK beating Bama. I am not pumped that GA has broken through. They are loaded and will now have confidence to go along with it.
I think kicking arse and taking names ourselves will sort this out

re: Yes or no for expanded playoff?
Posted by AFATiger on 1/1/22 at 6:46 am to FairhopeTider
Agreed. Screw parity. The only way for Bama to not be on top is for Saban to leave or somebody beat them. Somebody needs to step up. Expanded playoffs won’t change it. Still, I think you should go through a regular season and post season gauntlet. Upsets happen. Only way to prove you’re the best is show it on the field

I vote yes. How many times has a two loss SEC team been damn near as good as everyone else in the country, especially before Saban at Bama in 2007. We can’t keep thinking Bama will be on top forever. It’s not the reality of any sport for a single team to rule it forever or for a single team to always be at the top. There will be years where it’s lopsided and years where the competition is tight. Only one sport doesn’t do championships this way.
Besides, some sadistic part of me wants to prove that even Florida can beat Michigan in the snow in December!

No way skyline chili comes close. It’s a mild chili. Like who intentionally makes chili mild???

Good joke and smack talk, but let’s pull the throttle back a bit. Never flew sorties in Afghanistan, but based on my Iraq time and what people have told me, Iraq and Afghanistan is a much larger shithole than you can possibly imagine
re: SEC will be the new PAC12 after dark.
Posted by AFATiger on 11/30/21 at 6:28 pm to Fuegoqueso
GTFOH, I thought you Aggies understood the SEC better than that. The PAC12 after dark wishes it was us. We’ve always been cannibalizing each other. We didn’t need Aggy, Mizzou, Texas, or OU to do it. We’ve always been that good and we’ve always been that way.

My goodness I need you to say it louder. This is so true.
I also currently think Aranda is the best man for the job.
One of these days, I need to learn how to make my own or improve it like some other guys posted. But I love Tony’s Creole Butter. Not a fan of his other flavors. I put a bottle and a half in a 19 lb fried turkey last week for maybe 24 hours. (I poured the other half of the bottle over the outside.) It was good but came out a bit salty. I would use a bit less injection next time (or change my brine recipe).
re: What team has the best collection of rivalries?
Posted by AFATiger on 11/12/21 at 4:43 pm to Sid E Walker
Hate to admit it, but you’re likely right at the moment. I grew up hating Auburn and Florida and not caring about Bama or A&M because they were the better team at the time.
So it makes sense that fewer care about LSU now, but when (hopefully not if) LSU returns to more consistent success, our rivalries will strengthen again.
That is until UTk and OU totally screw up SEC tradition and scheduling

While a few may disagree, I couldn’t agree more with the original post. Players do appear to be getting slower and not as strong, but I have a legit guess as to why.
Anyone who works out consistently knows that recommended workouts, training, nutrition, etc. changes as the science gets better. (Imagine how cutting edge the workouts are or should be for LSU.) So, just like our X’s and O’s coaches, if our strength coach is not keeping up with new innovations, then he is getting worse. Then our players get hurt more and don’t develop as well as everyone else who keeps up. I don’t want a strength coach who was good 5-10 years ago. I want one that’s good now.
To Moffit’s point, however, I have no sauce and can’t prove whether administration or other coaches (like head coaches or coordinators) are getting in his way of bettering the team.

re: Is it worth it to get a large dutch oven if you own an old Magnalite pot?
Posted by AFATiger on 9/10/21 at 7:38 pm to When in Rome
My goodness yes it’s worth it. I don’t cook everything in a Dutch oven or cast iron skillet, but if you season it well, your third or so chuck roast rice and gravy will get better from the seasoned cast iron. Also, please get Lodge. They’re as good as it gets. Made in the South and much cheaper than Le Crueset.
Forgot to mention that I have a 9 quart one from Lodge. Get the biggest one you can stand to have that’s not enameled and season it well. They’re awesome.
