Cowherd pegs Dennis Allen as the first coach to be fired this season In his bold predictions segment, Cowherd said that he thinks Allen will be the first head coach to be let go by his team this upcoming season. He noted that he thinks the Saints are the worst team in the NFC South (yes, somehow even worse than the Panthers) and that he doesn't "see the juice offensively".

That actually makes me feel better about the season considering the historically bad predictions he’s famous for.

I'm not sure if we had a think tank of 2009 Sean Payton, Andy Reid, Sean McVay, and Vince Lombardi could get any "juice" from this offense as currently constructed.

It's a safe bet, and outside of a complete collapse from one of the guys going into their 1st or 2nd season I would think the safe bet for a mid-season termination would be between Allen, Eberflus, Daboll, or Saleh.

But, if the team is the "worst team in the NFC South", couldn't that potentially give him some leeway if he has the slightest signs of anything positive? If they are the worst, expectations are low. Whereas I imagine Daboll is expected to be competitive in a tough market, and regressed last season, Saleh has been shite but bought a year with the Rodgers injury, and Eberflus has a new toy that is supposed to elevate them.

Any other franchise, I think DA is gone by midseason, unless he's at least .500. This franchise may be using him as a sacrificial lamb until they are in a better position to bring in a real coach.

Daboll actually got a team into the playoffs. Half a decade now and DA has yet to accomplish that. But Loomis said we have the next BB in the building lol.

Colin's predictions are notoriously bad because he doesn't do any research whatsoever, he just says things. He says he doesn't see the juice offensively. There is a reason why: he hasn't looked. He doesn't have the info to know one way of the other. At least when the guys who cover the team make comments such as this, they have at least seen the team in practice and are speaking based on evidence, not just pulling stuff out of their hindquarters.

But that's just Colin being Colin. The worst thing is the headline on the story in the link. "Colin Cowherd prediction every Saints fan can get on board with" This writer clearly spends way too much time on social media and message boards. Contrary to some people here and other places, most fans do not want the team to suck and do not want to have the team be so bad that the coach gets fired during the year. It is a miserable existence to want that for a team you claim to be a fan of.

I get where he is coming from, especially with potential for a rough early start. However, I also think this defense has a chance to be very good. I see another 7-10 win season (with 10 requiring some breaks to go our way).

Cowherd has openly admitted to being in the business of shite stirring. I never give his opinions the time of day.

Although I could see him being right about this.

Loomis isn’t firing DA during the season. They both need to go if you ask me and we start over completely. Trade Olave, Kamara, Lattimore, etc and get as many picks as possible then spend the next 2-3 years doing a ground up rebuild.

If DA is trending to finish any worse than 9-8 AGAIN then he is gone. If we start 2-5 or something like that I think he’s gone. But if we go 3-3 he stays

So, even if he is fired, where do we go from that point? A new coach with the same issues? Problematic o-line, aging RB with really nobody else depth-wise behind him. QB question marks all over the place.....
