Will be hilarious if Carolina signs him after trading Burns… significant downgrade and we should just run up the bid price…

That’s is exactly what a defensive rookie of the year is.

This is probably a deal that looks like the one Davenport just go

Probably closer to the one Davenport signed last year, 1yr with $10M guaranteed but worth up to $13M with incentives.

People talk about his lack of effort & attitude, but I've only seen 1 play referenced on his effort and that was a running play on the opposite side of the field 10+ yards passed the LOS, with 3 other 49er defenders in front of him that should have made the tackle. YES he should have given more effort since you never know that your teammates will make the play, but it's also not that bad of a play like everyone made it out to be. I liken that play to the Olave play against the Jags when he didn't finish his deep clearing route at full speed and just jogged the back half, of course he should have given max effort but also the other players didn't execute as they should have. And I've still yet to see anything specifically "attitude" related.

I haven't watched him play much so I cannot honestly say if he's a question mark or not, or if he's worth $13+M/yr or a multi year deal, but just a few months ago the 49ers thought enough of him to trade a 3rd rd pick for him. If the market makes Davenport was worth up $13M last year and $10M this year, then Young is too IMO

I haven’t watched any of his prior games but that sounds about right.

Was the play you’re referencing in the SB?

He was DROY in 2020, had 7.5 sacks and 10 TFLs

He’s had 9 sacks and 10 TFLs in the three seasons since.

He visited yesterday and the Panthers signed another DE to a 2-year deal

Looks like it’s us or the Titans

If the saints make this happen, whoever knows SFP in person needs to go to his office and house and take away is phone and keyboards for 24 hours

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Panthers lost burns.

Do people think chase young will solve the saint's problems at de? I don't see that

Nobody said he’d solve our problems what people are saying is he’s a piece we can take a gamble on within our budget and see what happens

A recent #2 overall pick who is a freak athlete and will likely be a one year prove it kind of contract. Not much downside. I hope we get him.

Hasn’t been the same since his injury. People forget that he had a patellar tendon rupture on top the ACL. Redskins denied a 5th year option on a former 1.2 in the draft, former DROY. Makes you wonder..

Young played 735 snaps last year and finished with 7.5 sacks, 7 TFL, 15 QB hits, 25 tackles

Payton Turner has played 339 snaps for his career and has 3 sacks, 8 TFL, 8 QB hits, 29 tackles

Maybe it’s a 3 year recovery from his injury and this is his year. Maybe it’s maybelline

When someone is this deep in a career and one of the main talking points for them is their draft position… not good
