True but because of that you have to keep investing in them. The O and D lines are what makes or breaks a team. You can’t just say well we tried and it didn’t work out let’s build up some other area and hope they cover for the line problems.

Said today that meeting has been rescheduled. Assume he is in negotiations elsewhere.

Seeing some rumors that Falcons may be pushing to get him signed.

Sounds like someone doesn’t want him to even set foot in New Orleans.

I think we hear of him signing elsewhere before he ever visits (Charlotte or Atlanta maybe).

At least it was 7.5 sacks last year.

However he's only played 28 games, missing 22 games in the process.
- Torn ACL & patellar tendon in the meantime

He is a HUGE boom or bust prospect. I don't question his motivation as much as I worry what his upside vs cost will be.

He is. Would like a smaller guarantee with incentives.

makes you wonder why so few teams are on him and why it’s only bad teams

I think every team and every fan knows he's a reclamation project.

The 49ers gave up a 3rd for a rental, so they obviously thought there was something still there

And now? I was referring to present day not last year.

He was rated at 74.4 by PFF. That's not elite, but certainly not horrible. I would have no problem with a prove it deal. Perhaps that lights a fire under him

The way people are talking about on here and Twitter make it sound like the saints are signing an elite guy.

I just don't see it. There is a reason he will probably have to settle for a 1 yr deal. He is still living off his rookie year.

I would've used the money elsewhere.

Because that's typically where players trying to resurrect their careers have to go on 1 year deals.

Teams that are in competition for championships typically need players they sign to come in and hit. Teams that are building or rebuilding typically have more leeway on players rebuilding their careers, thus boom or bust.

The fans never understand this and complain and whine about i but teams are doing the right thing by trying to get better and giving these guys a chance to comeback.

This really isn't true. It just depends on the gm and coach. The niners and cowboys have taken chances on reclamation projects.

If chase young was really what he was hyped up to be, you think the niners just let him walk?

They just gave up decent draft capital to get him there.

Reports are that he is at the Saints' HQ today. Sounds like no one is matching his salary demands so far.

Feels like the Clowney or Suh sweepstakes all over. I expect him to sign with the Titans or some other team in a week or so
