Can Dennis Allen be successful with a good offensive coordinator?

Obviously the team and Dennis both suck but there is a reason Pete didn’t want the job and Sean called the plays when he was here. Our defense was awesome from 2017-2019 under Allen and, though they’ve taken a giant step back, they are the only reason we’ve won 6 games this year. I think injuries (as usual) and a lack of legit starting DLineman is what has caused a lot of our defensive woes this year.

The offense is so bad I can’t even put it into words so I won’t even try to. I guess my question is how much of our shittiness is due to Dennis alone or is it more because of injuries and horrendous offensive play calling? With the right offensive coordinator could this team be decent next year?

The front 7 was healthy most of the year especially the beginning and they weren’t getting pressure.

We have 4 first round picks and a huge dt salary invested in just the defensive line and we dint have legitimate starters?

No. He’s an awful game manager and team leader.

The Saints offense has to undergo major personnel changes. Left tackle and right guard are the primary problems. I would explore trades for Peat, because you might be able to get something for him. I think Penning should take his place at LG. If we get a number one for Payton, it must be use to take an OL. Thomas needs to go as does Smith. Olave and and Shaheed are the only ones that need to stay; sorry Jarvis. Winston and Ingram need to go. Obviously, we need a young quarterback.

The saints defense has taken a step back with allen as head coach. We are alot worse stopping the run, we dont get turnovers, and we still cant stop mobile qbs. There is no defense for him keeping his job, although im sure he will

Defense only for Dennis Allen. Even then, he needs a head coach that can keep him in his coloring box.

Lots of reasons to fire DA but what he’s done, or allowed to be done, to AK ought to be right at the top of the list

Some coaches are great coordinators but bad HCs. He’s one of them

Even w DA as the HC, I think with a better OC this team would have a few more wins. Carmichael has no idea how to use the talent on this team; however, DA’s need to be over conservative to close out games would still cost the team some of the games they lost.

DA is not a leader of men. He has the charisma of a pool noodle and makes poor in-game decisions. That stuff matters even if he is good with defensive preparation.

Carmichael should have never been the OC. It’s not going to turn out well when you have to persuade someone to take an NFL coaching job.

Somehow, we were convinced having co DCs were a good idea.

Another reason to fire him.

He is a cold wet noodle. Clean house or get Sean back.
