have a bad feeling that we're just going to move Javonte to get under the tax and call it a day.

Wouldn’t have an issue with this, the way it’s looking we maybe could get more for Ingram in a S&T in the offseason than we could get right now. Prices in trades have plummeted

Nothing wrong with that.
Why trade BI right now for basically nothing? You can get nothign in the offseason for him. Might as well hold on to him and look for a S&T in the offseason.

The only issue with it is BI coming back and then we are out there with a healthy BI/Zion/Trey/CJ and we start winning games, and worse than that is the fact that it starts to look good and we end up keeping Willie next year.

Agreed. The issue here is CJ. We really need to move CJ. This can even give us leverage because it gives us the options to resign BI in the offseason which is better for negotiations through S&T.

There is absolutely no reason to keep CJ when we are trying to build a 3,4,5 year plan.

Also Kuzma is just not very good.

He's been terrible this season but showed signs of life recently. Maybe he will be motivated going to a better team. It's a nice spot for him.

Yeah, in his defense he’s been playing for the worst organization in the league for a while. I argued Rui would be better going from WAS to LAL and I was right (Shel you were wrong) so maybe Kuzma will shock me.

Problem is Capela at 22 million and Levert at 17 million pushes us further into the tax.

That’s not a problem, you are just including the Theis, Green, JRE’s of the world

It is a problem because teams have to have roster spots to take those guys, and that is limited around the league, and then we have to sign guys to replace them which then pushes us right back into the tax. You can’t just do a 5 for 2 deal at the deadline, that’s offseason moves.

We can convert two way guys to contracts. Griff has a history of doing that late and locking those guys up for a minimum of long term cash.

We can also get guys on the vet minimum to pad out the roster.

Buddy, they are getting under that tax by hook or crook. Nothing would shock me more in this world than them failing to do so. They might trade a 1st rounder to do it.

Gayle is not paying money and losing out on 14 million dollars

That still costs money….

And again, you have to have teams able to take guys into roster spots, and those are very limited. We are already 1.4 million over the tax, do that trade and we are 5 million over at that point.

That means you have to send out all 3 of JRE, Theis and Green without taking any money back, then we have to sign 2 guys to get roster compliant. Kicker is converting 2 ways costs around $24,000 per game remaining, so almost $800,000 for the rest of the season. We would only have around 1 million after trading away all 4, so we would be right back in the tax.

They won’t, calm your titties. It will be Green or Theis going out for a fake 2nd or something

Considering he claims to have turned down the opportunity to be traded to Dallas last year, I doubt it

So we could easily have GSW, HOU, and Miami as possible trade targets for BI. Along with atleast TOR/ ATL as worst case scenario dump teams

Soggy, I have no idea why you are fighting this so strongly. There’s a thousand ways they could figure out the small details.

Pels get: Capella and Lavert

Cavs get: Hunter and Theis

Hawks get: Ingram, Ty Jerome, Tristan Thompson

Sure, maybe we make separate deal to give away Green. Maybe we bring in fourth team to take Lavert for a smaller expiring. But geez, the primary pieces are spelled out and the roster spots are easy sorts. There are ways to shave the $1.5 million the Pels need and will cut.
