Damn overpaid a guy that doesn’t really want to be here and had no other market by about 4-5 million a year.

At the end of the day we don't know what other teams offered, including sign and trade options. It's very possible we offered just slightly more than the next team.

The minute distribution just got a lot more complicated. You gotta assume Hart will play at least 28mpg.

Willie knows how to handle similar players without enough rotation spots to go around. Monty showed him when he was a Hornet competing with Belinelli and Marcus Thornton for the same minutes. Each guy gets 10 games, then move on to the next guy.

If most of this deal isn’t non guaranteed, then it’s a huge overpay and L for Griff.

Well there's no way most of the deal is non guaranteed, some of it might be. Might be similar to the deal Kelly Olynyk signed.

Cap space dried up so we know he didn't get more than an MLE offer which would be 3/$30. For the Pels to give him 3/$38 means they probably overpaid up front for less guaranteed money near the end.

Summer league has shown Kira is not ready for primary backup minutes.
Naji is a quality backup. Didi is mop up duty
Love to see a NAW, Hart, Murphy, Jones, Naji hustle lineup out there.

Has our team ever been this deep before? Our 2nd unit should have TONS of energy and cause a lot of problems. I'm so excited for this upcoming season

I like Shamits first and second unit line ups. I’d be happy with that

I know Temple played a lot of minutes last year for Chi, but I’m not really seeing a path for him to play. He’s been a below replacement level player for the past 3 years. I’d rather Kira and/or Naji get those minutes at backup guard. They are least have some synergy with Zion and some of the other guys.

As crappy as Kira played yesterday, I still think he would play relatively well in a run and gun bench lineup that features Zion with Kira, Murphy, Hayes, and Hart?

Teams can still work out sign and trades, so it's possible other teams were working on a sign and trade with us. Just because cap space dried up doesn't automatically mean that no other offers were out there

I agree, I’m really thinking we must be planning on running a decent bit of 3 guard looks. Any combinations of Graham/Kira, NAW/Hart, and Satoransky. Ingram and Murphy also included in some of that

Yea, we'll see how it ultimately plays out.

I've been on record, probably one of Hart's bigger supporters on this board, but I didn't really want him back.

Feels like we have a logjam at this position, and this may take minutes from Murphy and Naji. I don't like Naji more than Hart, but I do think Naji can give you 75% of what Hart gives you at a fraction of the price.

Maybe an overpay but he's still a positive asset with that contract. Looks like we are setting up/ collecting contracts for future trade flexibility.

Yea, if that is the rationale and we 100% know we want to use his salary for trade down the road, then I get it.

Very much disagree. But I’m still ok with having him back.

I guess Wenyen gets cut. Can they put in any option years?

Perhaps he had a 3yr 38 mil sign and trade worked out, but either Josh or the Pels nixed the deal due to Josh not wanting to play there and/or the sign and trade compensation not being agreed to.

Personally I think 3 yr 30 mil is about his value, but better to sign him for what we did than lose him and/or the ability to trade him down the line I suppose.

He also is a good player. I just wish we had more overall shooting on the team. We need NAW to take a step up shooting wise and hope Jonas and Hayes continue their 3 pt shooting trends as well. The problem is, we still don’t really have a shooter with a deadly reputation like a Hield or Dunc Rob that commands actual gravity and opens the floor up for Zion and Bi to drive. Murphy could be that guy, but it will take a minute. I wonder if Graham commands more defensive attention than Lonzo. Their shooting percentages are similar, but perhaps the shooting of Graham is respected more? We will see.

Josh Hart is a solid all around player with playing both offense-defense, those types are hard to find. A lot of these NBA players are overpaid, but I don't think Hart was in this case. A solid contract for a solid guy, good to see he's back, he'll help.

It's more than Graham got, you think Hart is a higher AAV guy than Graham?

Everyone forgets that Kira's primary offensive value is as a pick-and-roll initiator, and he couldn't showcase that skill this summer because our team had no roll man.

Kira is going to be a plus player for us this season, and his P&R with Jaxson is going to be outstanding.
