We can only have 13 on the bench. It seems like Didi is the first one out. It gets interesting between Temple, Kira, and Herb.

You could easily say Herb but we have little depth at PF and we have no clue what his potential could be. Hart coming back makes Temple a little repetitive besides his veteran presence.

Kira is going to be a plus player for us this season, and his P&R with Jaxson is going to be outstanding.

People also forget one of the most dominating lineups near the end of the year were the ones built around Zion/Kira/Jaxson. They were going against bench units, but the other teams just had no answer for them. I'm hoping they have the pieces to build a similarly dominant unit around BI.

wouldn't be surprised if he's trade bait at the deadline.

I watched Murphy in the summer league, kid is a 6'9 player with a really nice shooting touch from outside, he will help. I also like Naji Marshall, was really effective in summer league play. Also, I liked that kid they drafted and then traded to the Jazz, Butler I think his name is. He was a solid part of Baylor's NC run, he's a 6'3 guard that can shoot the 3 really well, but he's gone now. Lol

you think Hart is a higher AAV guy than Graham?

As of right now I think he is. He is already proven to be a legit 6th man and step into the starting rotation when he needs to. And his effort on both ends of the floor, I think, is what made him earn it.

I’m all for a lineup and rotation of:

NAW/Graham
Murphy/Sato
BI/Hart
Zion/Naji
Jonas/Jaxson

With Herb, Kira, and Temple sprinkled in

Maybe it’s an overpay but we weren’t going to use the money on anyone else. So, it either sits in Gayle’s bank or in Josh’s. He’s my favorite player so I’m glad he’s staying.

Cant say this team isn’t better than last years, in all three categories: roles, talent, and attitude.

And shooting.

Jonas
Graham
Murphy

Are huge upgrades to Adams, Bled and imo inconsistent Lonzo

Please. Devonta Graham and hield starting with Naw as 6th man would be nice. Graham isn’t the best finisher, but he’s not scared and will attack the rim. Lonzos problem was he could easily get to rim when he wanted but would panic and pass out or just blow the layup when he would successfully get to the rim. So, with Graham’s willingness to attack and hields pedigree on the perimeter, that’s what we need. And Kira/NAW, NAW/Hart, with Murphy/Naji, Naji/Hebert, Hayes/billy. Solid as Fk

Hart signing a deal means he can't be traded until December now. So any deals for Buddy, if there ever were any, are effectively dead for now. This is the team we have more or less, and the way Murphy played I think I want to see what this group can do before making any big moves.

Right it’s basically the MLE. Solid rotation players are getting like 15-20 mill on the open market. Why are we complaining about 12?

If fully guaranteed with no options it almost certainly is by any metric.

Yeah, not sure on that one.

My metric is always: Do you have to give up additional assets to move off said player or his contract? Or take back bad debt?

That is not a problem with Josh Hart and this contract.

If this team was so inclined, I guarantee you could move him around the trade deadline and get picks and a solid expiring, minimum.

Depending on his contract structure but there’s probably a 80% chance he gets traded before the beginning of next season (2022-2023) anyway

Yeah, people acting like it would be so hard to move the best guard rebounder in the league that is a plus defender, good transition player, moves the ball well, and brings constant energy and positive plays on the court. That importantly, doesn’t try to play bigger than his role.

Solomon Hill this is not

and what happens if Hart improves his 3 point shot and starts knocking down open catch and shoot 3's at a near 40% rate?
Do you think he can do that? He shot over 40% from 3 twice in college, and was right at it his rookie year.
I hope that's what he's been working at this offseason more than anything. He'd be a starter if he could do that.

I"m not going to complain about bringing Hart back at that much b/c i like him and i like what he brings to this team, although i have no idea who we were bidding against.
