maybe they are hoping Vaughn can do what Monty did.
The only season in which Monty didn't improve was the season we traded Chris Paul for Eric Gordon

yep. Monty showed improvement.
Vaughn did not, and i don't want to hear their roster was terrible. It definitely wasn't playoff caliber, but it was better than he was doing. They had young talent and weren't improving. You can expect a young team to not be that good, but you need to see them get better the next year, and if they aren't, there's a problem somewhere.
We have that problem.

But six years is a long time. How many of you are the same person you were six years ago?
I am not advocating for Vaughn, but I am not at all convinced that he's a bad hire.

I would much rather Lee but I’m still good with Vaughn. I trust Trajan’s opinion a lot better than Griff or even myself lol.

Nothing new said in there. We all know he's interviewed, it's in the coaching thread

I'm ready for that fat windbag to be gone.

It makes me wonder if Langdon is rising in the organization as Griff falls a bit. If this year goes sideways and Griff gets fired, I don't think they necessarily clean house and can see Zion being comfortable with Langdon going forward.
If they don’t win this year, Griff will get the axe to appease Zion. Trajan and Swinn will be promoted.

How about Trajan's opinion on Nico Melli? Our great expert on European players picked out a guy who flopped and cost us Christian Wood.
I don't say this to bash Trajan, but rather to say that everyone makes mistakes. Everyone wants the perfect person who hasn't made any mistakes, but that guy doesn't exist, so gimme the person who is honest about his mistakes and what he has learned from them.
That's true of both GMs and coaches.

The typicals in Pelicans twitter are already arse-licking and they haven't even hired the guy yet. I'd have to be on salary to carry water like this:
What Griffin is in the middle of doing to this franchise is disastrous.

Isn’t Christian Wood on his 6th team now?
It IS possible for a shitty attitude to outweigh your on court contributions.

Well, SVG had a W/L record well over.500 when we hired him. If you reduce everything to that one metric, without looking at the players on those teams or other factors, you end up making bad decisions, which is Shamit's point.

Wait, are you seriously defending Trajan's bringing Melli over at the expense of Wood?
Posted on 6/25/21 at 11:50 am to GOP_Tiger
I don’t defend Melli.
I point out that Wood has gone from place to place a LOT considering his production, which tends to be a sign that someone is a locker room cancer.

Woods was never going to be here. He wanted playing time. He wasnt going to start over Derrick Favors. But who knew Favors would have underperformed that bad. Melli was an amazing shooter in Euro, he just lost all his confidence when he went to the NBA.
