Not that I’d want this , but if there is a trade for kd it would involve Ingram because of how similar they are

Just because they are similar, doesn't mean they can't play together.

We would have the longest frontcourt in NBA history.

It’s not as good of a fit to have both of them. If you had to do a deal it would involve Ingram not Zion imo

That's like saying it's not a good fit to have two guards on the floor.

KD’s game fits with anyone - his length gives him defensive versatility and he can dominate offensively on or off the ball. If the trade is Zion, CJ and picks a starting 5 of Dyson, Herb, Ingram, Durant, Jonas is, on paper, as good as anyone in 2022-2023.

I don’t actually want this move because I don’t think it goes according to plan over the next 4 years but the potential lineup we’d have is incredible.

Just heard Rich Kamla on the radio say that a Suns source told him idiot Robert Sarver thinks he can get KD for "a bunch of draft picks and expiring contract."

Sarver certainly can screw this up enough to open the door for KD to end up elsewhere.

I believe that the eventual deal will involve Mitchell, ayton, bridges, Johnson, Simmons and Durant and a ton of draft picks

something like Simmons and ayton to Utah, Mitchell, bridges and Johnson to Brooklyn and Durant to Phoenix. Utah would have to send some salary out too I suppose, Conley most likely

Brooklyn says they want an under 25 all star, that’s what bridges is. They could take Conley and buy him flip him. Those MN picks Utah just got are much better assets than our lakers or bucks picks (to offset not getting a zion or Barnes). If it doesn’t work out with Mitchell they can move him again easily

edit: Conley could go out to Spurs, rent their space for a pick

So you would rather have kd and Ingram than kd and Zion?

Agreed. This is fricking awful. All we need now is trade reports leaking we’re offering Ingram or Zion or CJ and all the goodwill we got last season will be fricking GONE

I’m honored.

Swap CJ with Durant and Dyson and how far do you think the pelicans go in the playoffs last year?

I think if we somehow are able to get Durant without giving up Ingram and Zion, CJ and Dyson are the main players involved in that deal.

I honestly think Ingram has to be a centerpiece in any KD trade.

CJ doesn’t bring the value Brooklyn will want and Dyson comes off as very Simmons-like, which isn’t necessarily great when you have Simmons already.

Dyson has to go because you'd have to pull in a 3rd team to send someone like Mitchell out. Utah just traded Gobert for a 2022 draftee and 4 1sts, 3 of which were unprotected. I can't see them taking less for Mitchell. So at the very least you have to match that package with Dyson and picks.

Thought a team can’t trade for 2 players on max deals. So with Zion signing his max deal he’s off the table or the nets would have to trade Simmons to be able to get Zion. Nobody wants Simmons.

Now that Zion is signing his extension with us, he is officially off the table.

There's zero chance that we would trade BI, because he's the leader of the team, and trading him would utterly destroy the entire "family" atmosphere around the team.

We wouldn't trade CJ, because his role here is critical.

That means that the ONLY way a KD trade happens is if we use a bunch of picks to get a third team, like Utah, involved.

If we aren’t sending out BI or CJ, how do we even get to matching salaries?

Durant is making around $40m so it means JV and the likes of Graham and Jax to even get close to matching. Given their relative value, that means a lot of guys on rookie deals like Herb and Trey leave as well.

I still think the leader and culture of the team is Willie Green. This all started and came into fruition once he got hired. I don’t think trading Bi for a guy like Durant would destroy the culture.

obviously Griff and Willie tho would prefer to keep both BI and Zion and bring in KD somehow
