Yeah Im sorry we agree to disagree that hes like JJJ even from a defensive prospect side. So I’ll honestly leave that one.

Technically we have a DPOY in Herb and personally you’re likely not going to get one at 14 either. Yes, Herb was a second round pick and how good he was defensively in the league was shocking to many. I think you’re extremely high on Lively and again I think hes more of a gamble.

I don’t think he’s shown any signs of being a league avg 3 point shooter. Again I feel like Lively is all based on hope and potential. Frankly seems a lot like the Jaxson pick to me.

When in doubt, never go Klutch. Lively is Klutch.

I agree to a point.

There is a limit to how much Rich Paul can frick up a slotted rookie contract.

Once we get to RFA territory? That’s different.

Considering how only 1 drafted player has made it to his second contract here, I'd say it'll be rare for a drafted rookie to make it to a second contract. We're about to hit our outlier with Herb/Trey. We'll go back to another drought I'm sure.

Kris Murray would be my pick at 14...he's positionally flexible with enough size to play the 4, is a sold NBA level athlete, and has proven ball skills. Can't have too many of those guys, and he provides some Zion insurance.

Love his potential but do you think we could even develop him before we give up on him? Our track record isn't so great with these really young guys.

You could probably get him in the 20s honestly.

Great potential guy but another guy who MAY need Vinsons help with his shot. I feel like we have too many guys like that on the roster.

idk Naji got 23 mins last year. If we drafted him i would give him 15 of naji's minutes

That's due to injuries though. And you would think Daniels would get those minutes if they were available. Getting minutes is only one part of the developmental process. Are they going to get him play through his mistakes? Are they going to run some plays for him? And are they going to let him grow? These are really tough things to ask for a team looking to win now with a roster already full of wings fighting for playing time.

Kris Murray would get 10 min a game. We don't need wings. We need guards and bigs

Outside of Lively or one of the top shooters, I see a bunch of guys who are redundant to players we already have and would have trouble getting minutes to develop.

If you can't get Lively or Dick/Hawkins, trade back. You should be able to get something to help you this year while replenishing the war chest a little.

Trade back, pick up a second and take Kobe Brown. I'm good with that...have a solid group of cheap young PFs behind Zion while staying under the cap and having a ton of flexibility if roster opportunities arise.

I'd take Maxwell Lewis too and just bank on his defense becoming solid. The offense is already there and the tools to be a good defender are there too with is 7 foot wingspan. If you can trade back and do it that would be good value. A little raw but, Murphy, Herb, and Dyson all were a little raw coming in. Lewis already has a few translatable skills that'll get him on the court sooner than later.

I assumed Bilal would be long gone by the time our pick rolls around.

If he's there I would bet he's the pick, he's a guy right up Griffin/Langdon's alley

Same, draft people a couple weeks ago made it seem like he has a promise before our pick

Just expanding on this. Any reasonable solid vets you would trade for #14? Buddy Hield, Collins, Tyus Jones, etc.
