Phoenix and Sacramento are falling off and don't look very good right now. We either need to hold off OKC or catch Dallas. Both of which seem like tough tasks.

i think it will come down to catching dallas, if it happens. OKC with RW & KD are better than the pels (obviously), but i think DAL can be had. if the pels cant hold off SAC & PHX they dont belong anyway

I somewhat disagree, Portland before ROLO and Portland after ROLO looked like a completely different team. May be coincidence but I think he has a very positive effect on that team.

I mean I agree with that. Seeing Robin Lopez hurt sucks for them, but it's not worse than Aldridge or Lillard getting hurt, and they do have Chris Kaman backing him up who's playing just as well as him.

Of course, but for a team that lacks depth to begin with, could be a factor.

It's crazy. Keep waiting for the Grantland piece on this to come out.

Kaman has been very successful as the focal point on offense of their 2nd unit, but him replacing Lopez is a totally different role. Lopez is a much better defender (on a team with few good ones). Him being out will certainly hurt them. Doubt it will do enough to knock them all the way out of the top 8 but it will make a difference.

We need that 8 seed to end with 50 wins. Step it up Pels.

Fun stat. Pelicans are one of only two teams with an SOS above .500 and a positive average margin.

They seem like the most ripe to be picked off at the moment. They are still 0fer against WC playoff teams.

Not so fast. The pels are currently a WC playoff team.

In 3 or 4 games this season, Ellis caught an absurd amount of fire in the 4th/OT which led to wins for them.

They're possibly the weakest link right now.

LAC doesn't seem very strong either.
Wins against:
OKC (by 3 w/o Durant)
LAL
Utah x2
Portland
Phoenix x2
Orlando x2
Miami
Charlotte
Detroit x2
Houston
Minnesota
New Orleans
Indiana

Losses to:
Milwaukee
Washington
Memphis
Chicago
SAS
GS
Sacramento

Clippers, Blazers, and Mavs are all susceptible to a free fall.
