Once again we've overthought the entire thing. Play cedric at LB put your best midfeilders in the damn midfeild and give your attackers a chance. no one to get shots off. Pepe was the best hope but hes playing on the left on his bad foot. Just none of it makes sense.

Our biggest issue are still in midfeild to me. we are sooo slow on the ball and just physically slow. no one can beat their man and we are stretched so easily on the break.


There were multiple stretches of this game where midfeild was pushed back and we were putting palace under real pressure but eventually a bad pass would come and theyd hit us on the break. once that would happen , ceballos and xhaka would immediately go back to safe side to side and backwards passes.

we started off both halves energetic and attacking and as soon as palace would give us a scare we back off. I truly dont think its tactics, its fearfulness from our midfeild. we need more guys like partey with the athleticism to dominate the area of the pitch.

yeah we had more attacking intent but still no execution really. Ceballos falling was pitiful thats probably a goal if he looks to score or pass instead of looking to be fouled. I think the pressure is getting to them everyone looks so tight and afraid to mess anything up.

on the bright side, even though pepe wasnt super involved, most build up was down the left, he was in the game and took up very dangerous positions. imagine what a real creative midfielder could do with pepe and saka on the wings.
