Right, it’s not a bad picture or anything. I’m glad he looks decent and is in the facility.

It’s just, more of the same. Flashy offseason pic. Still enormous frame. Even if he’s in shape, he’s still not going to survive the 105 games of basketball required to win a championship. And that’s all I’m interested in at this point. I’m over the play in and early playoffs. Bc we actually have talent to contend if 1 guy takes it Serious Serious, and not just kind of serious.

This is another Kind of Serious Offseason physique photo. He looks like he can currently curl 225 pounds for reps, but that’s not the point. Even if the kid dropped 40 pounds, there wouldn’t be a stronger player in the league. And he’d be even faster and bouncier. He’d legitimately be a Lebron James or Michael Jordan level player at 250 pounds.

I am also an OG "Zion is Fat" cast member and I'm fricking impressed. He looks like the size he needs to be at for the first time ever.

I actually understand his mindset and it is difficult to debate, because it has a lot of merit. A lot of his power comes from his bulk. He is still able to maintain his speed/quickness, which is what makes him such a freak. He believes dropping weight will make him lose what makes him special.

Honestly, I don't know what type of player he would be at sub 250#s. I think he would still be incredibly strong and powerful. But no where near what he is now. On the flipside, he'd be much healthier and way less prone to injury.

At this point, I think he's going to keep trying to do the same thing, playing in the 270-280 range. It's comfortable for him..

Wouldn’t he be faster and bouncier at 250 lbs? That makes way more of a difference than the minimal strength/bulk benefit of 25 lbs.

Same ole 35 inch biceps, 55 inch waist and 290 pounds physique.

This is more of the same. Not anything to get overly hyped about imo. Coin flip at best if he stays healthy with that frame.

Are you serious? If you look at that and have those comments, it is clear that you have a major bias.

I've been trying to say that since the baby reveal pics, but everyone was focused on the other irrelevant shite.

Yes, he should be. I believe the greater benefit would be stamina and recovery.

There would be a trade off in power and heft though. He relies on his bulk to bully/push others.

I don't know. There is a reason all offensive lineman weigh over 300lbs. They rely on the mass for the additional power (plus it makes it harder to move them). Zion is somewhat using the same philosophy.

It's a revolutionary concept. I don't think it's sustainable long term or really a good idea. But that seems to be what he (and his trainers) are targeting..

I’ll say this

If I’m.a defender - I think twice about taking a charge when Z comes speeding down the lane

Doesn’t the new contract that kicks in this year lower his pay if he misses games?

Not necessarily, when you combine his mass with his burst, the amount of momentum he carries to the rack is second to none. That's why he's hard to move off his line.
