The only answer that Zion, CAA and the league want is us trading him to New York. Everything is orchestrated to do just that.

I just don't believe we know enough to make that conclusion yet. There is a far greater chance that he's just immature and unable to handle the negativity and this is the way he's chosen to respond to it than there is this drawn out plan to get him traded. It may end up being the case, but I'm willing to give the kid a chance to right this

We're losing games right now, living in a world where this albatross is just hanging around our necks. And it gets seemingly worse everytime there's anything in the media that peeps out.
If the Pels could just get out of the Zion shadow and move on, there's a definitive argument to made that they could find success faster and more immediate than waiting for this bum to return from lala land.
Stop being an enabler. Stop being a believer. Join the ever-growing chorus of people finally ready to move on and lets build with what we have. CJ was a move in the right direction. Use anything you can get for Zion and let's put the pieces together to get back to winning.
We can't just sit back and wait forever. "Zion is scrubbed for the year but.. but HE'LL BE BACK NEXT YEAR". It's a song I'm tired of hearing. And finally, by the looks of the threads on this board, the vast majority have finally tired of it too.

Here here!
(Let the record show this isn’t a testament to his skill level. Or his ability to deliver wins to the team I root for. Simply, as an individual, frick that fat puss)

I agree Bunchie. All the BS aside he’s a soft-hearted kid at the end of the day.
His error isn’t that he’s depressed or even that’s he’s introverted. It’s that he’s seemingly unwilling to accept outside help. You can’t force that, of course. Nothing can be done until he becomes willing. Hope that it works itself out.

This has literally been the goal since day 1. There has been 1000% more talk about him forcing his way out to New York, talk that began before he was even drafted and rumors that he has done absolutely nothing to stop. He may not be at AD's level of out, but he has had a foot out the door before he was even selected.

Even if he wanted to be here, which I doubt, I'm concerned about his long-term health.
I just don't see him having a long career.
His game is built around athleticism. Not too many 300lb athletes in the NBA.

I just need him healthy enough to be amazing for long enough to rob someone out of all of their assets.

Not really sure what is going on with the Zion-Pels relationship, but I do know the Pels need to communicate something in the next day or so. If not, the players (who would like to make the play-offs) will end up taking the brunt, having to address the situation in every media scrum. You want your players focusing on the task at hand.

Problem is, IF, and I say with a big if because it's Windhorst(who was more right on Simmons/Harden than Woj, but has some misses as well), but if what Windhorst said is true, that the Pels are at a loss for what to say publicly right now, because at this point because Zion and his people are being distant, literally and figuratively, I'm not sure what you can announce that isn't going to either come off dissatisfactory to fans, or, throws Zion under a bus that could be self-inflicting and escalatory?

I have a feeling that the last few days may have gotten Zion out of hibernation.

This. It's why their dumbass plan to rehab his foot instead of getting surgery is so terrible for us.

Indeed it is a tough spot. Unfortunately, I believe that the situation has moved to a national rather than local story. Players will be asked, coaches will be asked, FO will be asked .... what's up with Zion? Are you in contact with him? How do you view him as a teammate? ...etc. If I'm a player, actually playing, this would be at minimum irritating.

Sure he will. First & foremost, because the money says so.
But hopefully a guy like McCollum can buy him back in

He has done nothing?

I guess the correct comment is that you chose not to believe what came directly from him instead of the infamous bloggers.

I was wondering when the "you don't understand basketball" thing would peep out. It never disappoints. Anytime one of you marry yourselves to a losing narrative, it's the get out of jail card. Fans that get mad about perennially losing just don't know basketball.
I'll let you wait on him. Zion's coming back. He's just injured. He'll be back with a vengeance soon.

Yeah, you missed the point.
There’s no universe where it’s better to simply have him off the roster and we get better, by selling as low as possible.
The NbA is a superstar league. You have to have one or be able to get one.
The best thing for the Pelicans is for Zion to be healthy, back on the court, and playing well. That way you either have a superstar or the ability to trade him so you can acquire one.

I understand that... but at what point is even that not possible? I know there's talk of being able to fix these problems going forward, so that a single player can't dictate what your team does. But for now, we play the hand we're dealt. CJ comes to this team and the immediate story is that he can't talk to Zion. This fat frick is just sitting somewhere in Portland with the Pelicans' balls in his hands. He's not even making statements about when he'll be here or anything. We can't even try to build anything here without it being in his very unpresent shadow.
It was getting old 2 years ago, dude. Now it's a constant dumpster fire. When do you cut bait? You sit there and let him keep doing bullshite like this and it's another season, and another season, and another... while this headcase could give a rats arse.
