I've heard many of idiots talk about the "star" power he can still bring to a team, from a social media perspective. I find that hilarious, and also sad that i live in a world where that exists.

If that were true, I can see Knicks interested.

I honestly think there are 2-3 teams that think we are just using him wrong and they will be able to use him better and give up something remotely positive of value.

I feel like MJ and Kupchak would be willing to take him on. That seems like an MJ thing to do as far as bringing him in with LaMelo.

Or hell, maybe Vivek thinks he's the next Magic Johnson

Nets: JJ, Ntilikina, Melli, Taj Gibson

Knicks: Lonzo, Kyrie

Pels: Alec Burks, Elfrid Payton, Knox

Or something like that

He had seemingly 3-4 long lobs per game last season when the team was running. That still doesn't make him anything more than a 3&D wing IMO, but this pace is definitely not doing him any favors.

I absolutely think that's the case.
He would be much better in a fast pace offense like we were last year.
The Bulls and the wizards are top that list so far this year in pace. I konw Otto Porter is in his last year, but he would be a great fit for us, but his salary is difficult for us to make it work.

The Knicks are dead last in pace this year, and i doubt that changes with Thibodau. Hornets and Magic are at the bottom for pace as well.

I could see Minny, Sac, and ATL being interested in him b/c of this too, trying to increase their pace even more.
I'm not interested in anythign from Minny, would love Buddy or Barnes, and ATL has plenty of pieces but i doubt they are interested in giving up their assets for Bonzo.

And the thing is that isn’t wrong per se

We aren’t using him right, or more accurately, putting the right pieces/scheme around him, but he’s also not the type of player you build a roster around....Because he’s just too limited and can’t accept what his role should be.

So if you have a roster that works with a Lonzo, or the lockerroom that can humble him into playing the role he should, than he does make sense to go after if you can get him cheap.

But in my mind you need a fast paced team, that has 3-4 shooters on the court with him. A half court facilitating guard that can hit threes, and other multi level scorers.

Toronto honestly does make some sense as 34 year old Lowry isn’t going to last forever, and he sort of compliments the rest of that roster. Nets would actually make sense as Kyrie/Dinwiddie insurance. A guy that can create in transition, spot up, occasionally get hot, and defend the other teams best guard. Clippers as well. Mavericks as well.

Do y'all just not want JJ to be included in a trade or are y'all downvoting because you think either JJ/ Lonzo have higher value on expiring contracts? I'm genuinely asking.

Lonzo is currently shooting better from 3 than Trae Young.

And close to the same as Luka.

I"m curious if the Knicks would be interested in Kyrie.

We have no idea what his value is at this point, but you'd think the Nets would be happy to get rid of him at this point.

The Nets could send him to the Knicks and get back Lowry, or Bledsoe/Redick, and both of those swaps would be really great for their title chances. Kyrie is going to have to take a backseat a bit with Harden there, and he's not going to like it.

There is a huge asterisk in that argument, think you can find it? lol

Kyrie
Lonzo
Barrett
Randle/ Toppin
( )

Would at least give them an interesting and marketable future.

Nets would get JJ, Ntikilina because Dinwiddie is out all year, and Melli/ Gibson who would somewhat help with their lack of bigs.

Obviously some picks would have to be thrown around.

But unlike Jimmer it’s not just a bunch of casual/non NBA followers because of his college/Mormon background, but some legit analysts and fans that aren’t always idiots that will defend and argue about how great Lonzo is or can be and how valuable people should see him.

before this season there was an argument

so far, that argument has deflated. instead of taking a step from the progress shown in 2020, he took 3 back. SVG was supposed to be great for him (and Zo for SVG) and it appears both are terrible. the sum is less than the parts

Why would the Nets trade a star player for that crap platter in return.
