I still think the best team outcome is:
Scoot
CJ
Trey
Zion
Turner
Jose
Sharpe
Herb
Nance
Matkovic/EJ/Naz Ried hell whoever you want you got money

cobbling together a lot of stuff to make a desperate Minnesota and Portland both take a loss to get close to what they want. That's the only way it happens though, by having 2 desperate teams in the right place at the right time.
If this opportunity presents itself it's great we still have so much draft capital to throw out. Matching contracts becomes the calculus, though.

Scoot Wants to be in New Orleans

If Portland would take KAT and Minnesota didn't want Scoot because they feel he's too redundant with Ant, I could see a way the Pels could be the 3rd team and walk away with the best player by cobbling together a lot of stuff to make a desperate Minnesota and Portland both take a loss to get close to what they want. That's the only way it happens though, by having 2 desperate teams in the right place at the right time. Even then it seems unlikely.
Yea, this is what I was getting at. Using young players + picks to facilitate getting another star or quasi-star from another team. It's a longshot, but a small possibility

Scoot also wants to be in San Antonio per ESPN

This is why i think helping facilitate a PG trade to Portland would be ideal for all. Clips can get Simons, Dyson and Herb and still have salary left to add another star player along with all the picks we would be sending them, or they keep everyone and have a damn good young team built around Kawhi without him having to go through rookie growing pains.

Because he wants to be number one. Every player in lottery would love to be number one.

True, BUT SA has a history of being very good with player development and patient, provided you don’t jerk off in front of your psychologist.

Yeah but reality is they been kind of mediocre to bad past couple of years. Ever since Kawhi left they haven’t been the same.

When you don’t have an all time great like Duncan or Robinson anchoring you, it is harder for those diamonds in the rough to really shine.

Some of these trades are unrealistic.
How much does portland or Charlotte want an often injured player? not as much as you think. Oden, Bowie, Zion ?
Here's what i believe. Griff is willing to trade Zion to Charlotte for scoot and some other stuff b/c it fixes 2 things.
He doesn't really want to trade him to portland or a west team.
Scoot is an all star caliber potential player that will be cap friendly until CJ is gone. The unknown product on the court will also be gone.
But in the end i give it 20% chance of happening.

Depends on what the front office’s mindset is going forward.
If they want to build long term, they move Dame for young talent.
If they want to push hard for a winner, they burn it to the ground to get Dame over the top.
Keep in mind that Jody Allen is the executor of the team but not the actual owner. Paul Allen’s estate is, and I think there are rules on where proceeds from the sale of the Blazers, Seahawks, etc, will go and it won’t be in Jody’s pockets.

I just saw Dame liked a tweet of Zion rumored to coming to Portland. Dame really putting the blazers front office feet to the fire to get deal done or he knows one is already done.

What do you value more:
Trey, Herb, Dyson or Scoot
Personally, I still prefer the trio.
I think it's a moot point.
If the Blazers are trading the pick, then they are doing so with a mind toward winning now which means they are trading for a star to pair with Dame. If they wanted to go young, they'd keep the pick and trade Dame for more assets.

Or he liked a tweet because he knows Zion is an other worldly player and would like to play with him

I’d hope nobody is getting their hopes up thinking this is going to happen
Posted on 6/21/23 at 9:53 am to Fun Bunch
Yeah but doing that still has the effect I talked about- It will likely put pressure on portland getting deal done. I know we keep saying the chances for a deal are low but I don’t know man I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re just trying to rough out edges- granted that can still stop a deal but instead of going away its just getting louder and louder. Again with all that being said nothing can happen and Griffin can act like hes running it back.

Like at this point would you be in utter shock if it did happen? Is that so unbelievable?

Something’s happening. It’s a question of what, not “when is this trade happening”.
Too much smoke not to be something in the works one way or another, it is a question of who is misdirecting who about their plans.
We could be trading back instead of trading up. Portland could be trying to get someone else by using Zion and BI as potential players they end up with in order to up the bidding from others. Etc.

Utter shock? No. But surprised Griffin had the balls to pull the trigger? Yes.
