Brandon Ingram update: All I’ve heard is that he is close to a return.

Ingram had more lift in his jumper at shoot around yesterday, but he still hasn’t practiced, sources tell @BallySports.

He needs to practice at least once before anything.

New Orleans Pelicans are one of the teams that have registered interest in Toronto Raptors players OG Anunoby & Gary Trent Jr, sources share with @BallySports.

None of this really seems like actual news or rumors that we couldn't have reported ourselves, but he has been pretty accurate with Pels info, mostly injury related, since he joined Ballys.

Yeah, he has had some scoops over the past year or so. But the OG stuff seems fishy. Its something Shams threw out there as something we could get in on if we wanted, because of our picks. Just speculation.

With OG though, we're probably looking at giving up picks + Dyson. Im sure they'd be interested in Trey, but his shooting almost makes him untradeable at this point.

Agreed. And they can't have Dyson or Trey. I'd give up Herb/Jose/Naji/Picks first. Dyson's defense is beautiful, he shut down Mitchell and Garland all night and he's just ALWAYS in the right position naturally. And Trey has looked great paired with Zion.

I think OG is really good but the price will simply be too high.

Agreed. On top of that, he will be difficult to extend after next year.

Gary Trent Jr. is supposedly looking for $25ish a year. Unless they are just planning to go hard into the tax both seem unrealistic long term targets.

Makes him a no go for us more than likely too.

The more I think about it, the more I come down to thinking Malik Beasley is the best fit for us when you factor in everything...their type of play, salary, years left, and how much it may take to get them.

Hard pass on that as well. I know it's easy to over value your own guys but I mean Naji is getting extended/starter minutes really for the first time and over the last 10 he's averaging 16/5/3. Same position, great defender, a year younger, and by all accounts will continue to get better. Not sure OG is big upgrade over Naji, especially if you consider throwing in a first.

Yeah I don't see how you give up Naji considering what he gives you on the court and he's making less than $2M a year right now. Same goes for Jose & Herb.

The fact that we have all 3 of them under contract for a combined $5.1M is just insane.

OG is a big upgrade over Naji. Y’all are crazy homers if you think 16/5/3 over a 10 game sample size puts Naji in the same stratosphere as OG.

I admitted that it can be easy to over value a player you're already pulling for. But OG is averaging 18/6/2 (37 minutes pg), possibly at his ceiling, and is getting 17 million per year. You're insane if you think Naji, who's making like $3.50 a game, and a 1st isn't in OG's stratosphere. They are supposedly wanting a Dejonte Murray (player + 3 firsts) type deal to consider it. We'd be absolutely insane if we made that type of offer.

I'm okay with giving up Dyson if it means taking Graham and a shite pick.

OG is a really positive player

I love OG but idk how you afford his next contract. He’s easily getting 30m/year. That would give us 4 guys making 30m+ before you build out the rest of the roster. Gayle’s pockets ain’t that deep

This is what’s lost on the posters here that think we’re a tax team. Just back up the Brinks truck. Golden State does it, why not us?

Our young guys are good players at a pretty discounted rate. We’re lucky to be in this position, it’s what’s going to help extend the window at a somewhat affordable pace.

The warriors have some of the richest owners in the league they paid like 400m last year in salary and tax. Gayle just doesn’t have that type of money. Most of her wealth is from owning the teams. I believe she’ll pay some tax but 400m just isn’t possible

Because they have ways to monetize their market that the Pels just can’t. I do wonder how the next TV deal will change the equation, it’s possible that the new income and changes to tax rules in the CBA in the next few years could make being a tax team viable. But we won’t know until we get there.
