The bone is healed, its as simple as looking at an xray. His issue is conditioning. Zion already gets bashed because of his weight. Them coming out and being direct about this will do nothing positive towards the relationship between the team and Zion.
I think this is correct. Zion has failed to live up to the expectations on his weight. It looks to me like he's gained weight since he's been back. That's why he's not being cleared, IMO.

Maybe he needs to spend the entire offseason at Nike as well.
Maybe. But he's allegedly gaining weight trying to ramp up for a playoff run. Are we just going to let him live permanently in Portland and fly in every day for games? Just the fact that we're discussing this bullshite again is extremely depressing on the eve of a gigantic moment for this franchise.

McNamara has been saying he's put on additional weight and hasn't met benchmarks set by the training staff. Makes sense if that's the case.
McNamara's number of sources inside the organization is the same amount everyone in this thread posting has, combined.
...Which is zero

This gets proven wrong time and time again. It’s possible Mac is bullshitting but we get unlikely source drops all the time that pan out.
I could make 1 phone call and confirm if I wanted, but I’ve grown tired of hearing about Zion’s weight fluctuations over the past 3 years. And I’m a nobody that just happens to know 1 guy inside.
Eye test and past history of Zion weight fluctuations is enough for me. Mac is probably not bullshitting this one.

Crazy to me that he's healthy, we're tied up with the number one seed and we're not playing him.
Give him 15 mins a game with the backups and let's win this fricking series. I don't see how anyone could argue the risk isn't worth the reward.

I don’t want to give the guy a pat on the back and make his head bigger than it already is, but if you follow his stuff on PR and Twitter you would see that’s not the case. He’s been right on several things regarding the Pels and around the league, things you wouldn’t know unless you have sources.
Now I do think it’s difficult to differentiate between what’s his opinion and what he actually knows.

I want him to play, too, but you and no one else on this forum has even the smallest slightest clue whether he’s healthy or not

Love Zion to death, if he shows up to camp next year and he's still heavy as shite....
We're in trouble.
We're in trouble.

Make the call and ask about his eating habits while on the road and with room service ...

We aren’t in trouble without him so why would be in trouble with him, no matter his condition?

nah
It's going to happen. He's either going to show up fat, or balloon up at some point.
There's a 10% chance he figures out a way to control it. He's going to play heavy. And, we'll find out if he's going to be perpetually injured or if he will not and just be a very good, albeit not exceptionally explosive, player.

Have you watched his practice videos? He’s still fat and out of shape and he won’t be able to keep the pace even with the backups in.

In all seriousness, I think that's just going to be Zion's body composition. That being said, if you recall, when he played the majority of the 20-21 season he got noticeably more in shape as the season progressed. Seems like a guy that loses the pounds as he plays.
I think he can play 15-20 minutes/night right now. Play him in the 2nd and 4th quarters (but not close) to let him beat up on second units.

I feel like I'm on an emotional roller coaster with Zion.
But we always end up back at the same place. He's too heavy.
Honestly, let's cut bait if he can't get in shape. Get a haul and build around Ingram, CJ and Jones.
