The more I read about Bailey, the less I want him. He's young but he sounds like an empty stats guy. We just got rid of one of those.
It's Flagg then a huge drop off to the other guys like Harper the foreign guy at Illinois and maybe the Baylor kid.
I don't want Bailey - he doesn't fit what we need anyway. I know we're not drafting for need but the last thing we need is another one-dimensional wing.

He doesn't play defense. He has no handle. He doesn't get any assists.
But he can score like no other person in this draft.

Will be tough to add "pure shooters" to this team without beefing up the defense.
There is such a vast difference between a Murray/ Herb lineup and a CJ/ Hawk lineup. And we have nothing in between.
We had BI who is an absolutely perfect in between but were never able to actually run it.

Yep. I love Edgecombe’s game. Great defensive potential too.

Charlotte beats the Lakers tonight. Always fun to see L.A. lose, plus the win for the Hornets puts them a game ahead of Pels for 2nd worst record in the league. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the 2nd half of the season.

I have trouble with him. He’s listed at 6’5 but is reportedly much closer to 6’3 and his wingspan isn’t great. He’s also not really a lead guard. So he’s kind of an undersized athletic defensive 2 guard with a questionable shot.
He might end up great but I don’t want to be that team to make that bet. He’s 6th on my board right now

Seems like Jaden Ivey is a decent comp for him?

Probably closer to Oladipo.

This draft definitely isn't shaping up to be as good as it was hyped originally. Way better than last year but outside of Flagg, there doesn't seem to be any can't miss prospects.
Harper isn't that athletic.
Bailey seems one dimensional.
Lots of Gs who can't shoot.

It's still very good in my eyes. They are 18-19 year old kids after all. Tre Johnson and Jakucionis are great shooters from day 1.
Bailey and Harper shooting will come. I'm not worried unless you absolutely need them to be prolific shooters from day 1, then you're looking at the wrong prospects.
Edgecomb is an all around guy that has shown a tremendous ceiling as an impactful two way player.
This draft has a little bit of everything. They're just young and need refinement. Which is to be expected.

That's just what happens when you chase NIL and go to a bad program in a strong conference.
If you look at every single team stat for that team, they aren't in the top 100 for any category and are in the 200s for several categories. That's a pretty bad team when you take a deep dive.
I see this as the new era of NIL especially with the Ignite being disbanded. Guys are going to chase money and go to a team where showcasing their abilities will be a big factor.
It's no different to me than guys going to the Ignite when it was an option. The teams sucked but those guys got paid and were able to showcase their abilities.
We're just not used to it since this is all new especially since this is the first season without the option of going to the Ignite route.
I think there absolutely should be criticism on these guys as it relates to skillset, IQ, and the weaknesses they've shown. They all have question marks and they aren't anywhere near perfect prospects.
Some guys don't want to be boxed in by going to a team like Duke. If you look at Knueppel and Malauch, they are absolutely boxed in to allow Duke to run their offense around Flagg. Those two would look a lot favorably in the draft right now if they are able to showcase their abilities a bit more on a team where they are the best players.

Oladipo was bigger and longer but that’s a good comp. Smaller oladipo.
Kinda reminds me of prime Eric Bledsoe

Harper’s athleticism is perfectly fine. He’s in the mold of a Harden, Cade, Luka type big lead guard. Not saying he’s gonna be as good as them but none of those guys are great athletes. They control the pace, create advantages and create offense for themselves and others.

Yeah I like the top 4/5. Some of you are over thinking it. Ace and Harper are very good. We’ve always said these guys are potential good core pieces for a playoff team. None of these guys will most likely be bonafide superstars and that’s fine.

The only bonafide star is Flagg and honestly that's fine.
This front office is committed to zion. The only player who can usurpt that is Flagg. Anyone else is just a piece to grow with Murphy, Missi, and Jones.

Wemby is out for the year with Deep Vein Thrombosis (blood clot) in his shoulder, so that is one less team expected to make a playoff push.

Appears to be the same issue BI had. Very serious diagnosis, hope the young man recovers 100%

So, it's Flagg or bust.

Idk why yall are sleeping on Harper, I think he's gonna be an all-star for a decade. Would be a great fit here.
