And like it was mentioned before, this team really is deep. It's been that way all season but it's still such a refreshing change from the AD era.

Thats all really encouraging to hear. I tried to stream the game on Pelicans.com, but i live in Shreveport so I'm outside the 75 mile range.

I'm curious to hear more about Zo and BI specifically. I see alot of people commenting on BI's weight, im curious how noticeable was it? Like how much weight does he look like he put on? That will make a huge difference in his game.

And what part of their games look improved? How was Zo's shot looking and just his general command of the offense?

I know it was only a scrimmage, but I've been feigning for Pels basketball and now that we finally had a game, I was forced to miss it.

BI's weight gain is noticeable, but it's not crazy. He still looks like a bean pole, just a little more muscular.

Zo looked like he hasn't missed a beat. Was commanding the offense, very active on D and hit a couple 3s.

Some times it’s easy to forget how good JAH is in the post on offense. He was making all the moves tonight.

I must say I like the setup the NBA did it kind of has an Olympic fill to it.

I think I am one of the few that don't worry about BI's weight. There arent any late 80s Detroit Pistons teams running around here. This is the era of ticky tack fouls so no one is physical really anymore on defense. Guys like Durant and BI can be skinny dudes and ball in this era. This is the era of tall and skinny.

After sleeping and thinking on the game, these are my thoughts:

* Everyone looks at least as good right now as they did in March. I think that's huge.

* We definitely can't take too much away from just one game against a crummy team, but you know what? We were a crummy team earlier this year in games when we had neither Zion nor Favors, and, last night, we were firing on all cylinders.

* Defensively, I thought we looked great. JJ was a huge liability earlier in the season, but the weight loss seems to have really helped his lateral quickness. I thought that Hayes and NAW both showed defensive improvement as well -- NAW had two blocks, a steal, and four rebounds.

* I could see Jah getting some minutes in games that matter. He was an offensive force last night.

* Kenrich was his usual self, drawing charges and diving for loose balls. It was great to see. I think that he's going to see meaningful minutes as well.

* I think that we can get the #9 seed without Zion, if it comes to that.

We love our Pelicans don't we folks? Seriously though, this team is special, and I haven't been this excited for NBA basketball in a long time.

I'd go with "Derps era" in lieu of "AD era." Dell never could figure out how to create roster balance.

It’s only fitting that our star player is missing. One day we are gonna see the full throttled, big dicking, giant balls pelicans, and it’s gonna be glorious.
This comment makes me so excited.

Not taking up for Dell, as he wasn’t worth a shite, but our center refusing to play center didn’t help him out with building a roster.

That's my main problem. He's part of the reason for the Asik contract.

There's always that opening night game where AD and Asik looked like second coming of the twin towers.

Demps also had truly crappy owners to work with. I'm not going to pretend he was a great GM, but he wasn't as bad as people think.

Again, I think that Griffin is much, much better, but he also has Gayle to work with.
