Yeah, look at Walton.

Exactly this.. You can tell Lue was trying to be a coach in Cleveland, but Lebron just did what he wanted anyway..
I'd like to see it, just to see if he has any potential

This does not instill confidence in my long-held skepticism of Griffin and coaching hires.

Dont think tyronn will go for being an assistant anymore

Lue is not a good coach any coach that will let Lebron and other star players run them over is not a leader.

Ty Lue became a meme and a joke around the league, so of course fans are going to buy into that joke.
I know I am guilty of that. He certainly SEEMS like an incredibly shitty coach that did absolutely nothing but have one of the best players ever have an amazing run, along with two other great players on his team. I have no idea what he did that would make him a "good coach"...
But I'm also not plugged into nba coaching circles nor was I inside the building, so I will admit that I have no idea if he actually is a good or bad coach.

And just like Griffin, he can learn from his mistakes..
DG already said, if he could go back he would do the whole LBJ thing different

i guess this supposes that lue would replace gentry and gentry goes upstairs in a year or so
Maybe it was never anything more than consideration as an assistant. We don't know how old this is. Perhaps they kicked the tires during the 5 minutes where they thought they might need to replace Finch. If you need a new assistant and can do Klutch a solid at the same time ahead of your summit with AD, why not?

This just shows that Griffin is 100% serious about re-recruiting AD. It's not for show at all, and this isn't happening unless Griffin thinks he has a chance.

Spo is a really good coach, so.
Where do you people come from
Guy coaches a team in the east and since losing daddy LeBron he’s missed the playoffs 3/5, lost in the first round 1/5.
Really good coach

Griff knows this game is more than x and o, relationships. You get Lue as an assistant, can help with FA.

Crazy how losing the best player in the league meant that he would win fewer games. IMO, a good coach should be able to win championships with any players.

Have you seen what teams look like after LeBron leaves them? He plays for a team, acts as a shitty GM making terrible trades, and getting people who are signed to his label overpaid, then he leaves the shite show and moves on to the next one.
The Cavs have basically been the worst team in the NBA the seasons following LeBron leaving. Miami lost 2/3 max players, and were left with a washed up Wade making max money the season after LeBron left...

Who has Lue ever recruited for anyone?
Posted on 5/28/19 at 1:42 pm to Epic Cajun
To be fair to Bron, Cleveland was garbage before he got there in the first place and Miami was nothing special after that 2006 season. Also, Cleveland kept on winning the lotto and getting high picks after Bron left but kept drafting players like Anthony Bennett and Dion Waiters. Their 2nd best pick after Kyrie was Tristan Thompson at 4 who ended up being a nice role player for 2-3 seasons with Bron, but isn’t exactly the type of player you generally hope to draft at 4.
