Could be as simple as trying to convince other teams he may stay to drive up the AD trade price, right?

All he is saying that the door is open for AD but he has to be all in. I guessing extension. He answered this perfectly imo.

This concerns me if it's anything but good ambassadorship.

No way AD signs that contract and if he did the franchise would be hamstrung from the get-go.

So the only path is a prove-it year where he could walk at the end of it and you only have 20 million and draft picks to fill out a championship level roster....and even then there is no guarantee he stays.

Now that is far more comforting.

Sign the contract or we move on, much better soundbite.

He is saying all the AD stuff as a signal to other teams to bring their A+ offer. Make it look like you don't need/want to trade him, you will always get a better package.

Guy is smart. Said all the right things today. Even threw in some NOLA restaurants to get the locals to like him. All that said, people LOVED Dell at the beginning too. Results and luck will dictate how long he is still loved

Dell’s presser was laughable. It was a total laugh fest on the internet. Rocking in his chair constantly, terrible screen behind him.

Griffin says he believes AD is open to staying after discussions with Rich Paul. But he would prefer to establish if Davis is all-in or all-out on being with the Pelicans
I know ADs a grown man and is responsible for his own actions, but the sad thing here is that I do think he's being yanked around like a puppet, to a certain degree.

"One of the biggest factors to me in this was Head Coach Alvin Gentry"

"I want to create a family environment"

"a player who represents who we want to be in Jrue Holiday"

"you are either all the way in or all the way out. there's no in-between"

"let's be very clear, Mrs. Benson is 100% committed to making this a championship caliber franchise from top to bottom. I made some outrageous demands in that conversation and I can assure you she's 100% committed"

"they say a small market can't win. That's bullshite" & "David Griffin said it took 30 mins in the interview room for him to know that this is a job he really wanted. Credits Gayle and the massive increase in investment in the franchise" both per Kushner

also he first attended New Orleans to go to a vide game convention in 1988

he held back tears
