@McNamara247 @MasonGinsberg @Rohan_Cruyff Gotta think the Evans offer also has a big trade kicker to be less palatable to Sacramento.
I had thought about player options in the structure but a big trade kicker could be a deal breaker for Sacramento. If they keep him odds are they'd have plans to move him and a big trade kicker would reduce his trade value where the Pelicans would sign Evans with little intention of trading him.

SLOOOOOOOOWWWW DOWWWWWWN people. Let's just hope to be in the playoff race this year rather than expecting us to be in the Finals.
Who said anything about the Finals?

When you're a small market AND you're dealing with an RFA, those are the risks you need to take.
Dell is a smart guy. I'm sure he did everything he could to make it as bad for Sacramento as possible.
The problem is, its the Kings...you can't know what a shitty franchise like that will do.

He will still be young and we may have eyes for another player whereby his contract could be used in a deal. However, a trade kicker could diminish flexibility in future deals. I guess it is a calculated risk though.

oh, so another teams hope is that he plays more shitty than what we had hoped.

yeah, teams are always beating down doors to get to another team's trash.

quote:No, trades never happen in the NBA. Teams sign players and keep them throughout their entire contract.

I am new here so dont all yell at me at once but if we trade lopez or cut him will we be able to sign a C with the Mid-Level Exception? If cap space is limited
Posted on 7/3/13 at 11:56 am to Sader1990
I think I remember someone saying we can't do that.
though

Yes. But since we are under the cap our MLE is the cap room MLE which starts at $2.75 million, not $5 million.

@WojYahooNBA: Portland is a possible destination for center Robin Lopez, with Indiana and others on a short list in pursuit, league sources tell Y!

If Pelicans don't waive Robin Lopez by Thursday -- paying 500K buyout -- his $5.1M and 5.3M salaries the next two years become guaranteed.

Meyers Leonard please.

Lopez for Batum.
Heh. A guy can dream, can't he?
Lopez for Meyers Leonard might be more feasible or a 2nd round pick.

I was reading up on it but wasn't sure how close they are to going over the cap. Thanks for the clarification

My thoughts exactly. It would be a comfort to have another shooter.
