It is possible Tyreke Evans never signs the proposed $44M offer sheet with Pelicans, sources tell Y! Sports. Still a fluid scenario.

I know the moratorium is for league accounting purposes or whatever, but WHY are FAs allowed to verbally agree and line up deals, while RFAs still have to wait? It totally screws over teams attempting to land an RFA. Sacramento can just match our offer and by then, all of the respectable FAs will have already landed deals elsewhere. How is this considered fair??

@WojYahooNBA: With so much trade interest in center Robin Lopez, it is unlikely the Pelicans will fail to guarantee his contract this week.

Who though. I think they need to stay on Evans. He is the key to this offseason. There are not any other great options out there.

That would lead me to believe they are working on a sign and trade.

The options are sign the offer sheet or play for $7 million this season and become a UFA next season. Nobody ever leaves the tens of millions on the table. Granted he is choosing between Sacramento and being a 6th man, but injuries are too likely to take $7 instead of $44.

Most likely scenario all along.

@McNamara247: Agee. Reason why Reke would not sign offer sheet- because it will be a sign and trade. That has always been the most likely outcome

makes sense. Can't be S&T if he signs.

Vasquez makes the most sense for both teams

Vasquez and Lopez seems like too much

I just hate that you have to wait until the 10th to get shite done. It can really screw teams in certain situations during free agency such as us in the situation we're in now.

A S&T is the most likely outcome if he's to come to NO, however it's still comes down to the fact that do they want to pay him or not? IF they offer him similar $$ he'll probably stay for some reason

i don't think it has screwed us at all. just because we aren't hearing about other plans dell has doesn't mean there aren't any

After we matched Gordon the Suns still had time to swing and miss on OJ Mayo
