The internet would melt down... Lebropcolypse 2014
Greg Monroe:

Put "sources say" in front of somethin and ppl believe. The "source" might be a hot pocket pack yall dont even kno...lol
No dude Pau on the Spurs.... wow. Idc what anyone says having him, Duncan, Splitter, and Diaw as a front court is just insane.
OR hopefully the market will drop out and we can re-sign Morrow for a bargin. It's clear that GM's aren't aware that Morrow can play decent team defense if he is use to the scheme. That is hurting his stock.
Pretty sure he is using MM tweets as his "source". My "sources" say these guys are idiots.
The Plan: Sign CJ miles to a 4 year deal with the MLE. Guy plays average D and can shoot the 3 at a pretty decent rate (39% from 3-pt land last season). Wait for EG to expire, then get a real starter and move CJ to the bench --> Win the Ship.

Get on it Demps.
Still standby CP3 not being that much better than Jrue at this poin. To be fair, the last thing I can remember is Westbrook destroying CP3 in the playoffs.

Talent wise, I think this team has as much talent as any western contender out there except GS and OKC.

Serious debate: Was throwing away Lopez worth trading a first to get Asik?
Let's stack them up versus the Clippers. Jrue < CP3 (but not by a lot) Tyreke > Reddick (by a fair amount) SF (both teams just have scrubs) AD > Griffin (that is a toss up IMO) Asik > Jordan (but not by a lot) Anderson > Crawford: Score to me is 5-1, maybe 3-2, but either way, it still favors the Pelicans.
I think people have got it all wrong. My bet is that Anderson is about to get flipped for a SF.

With all that being said, anyone think the Pels are serious contenders next year with this move and a little bit of luck in the health department?

I do, but maybe I'm being too optimistic. I can't think of a more talented roster besides maybe GS and OKC.
Ya, I just don't see Rivers or EG as long term pieces. I think by the time they are off the team, we could have a guard line up Jrue/Reke/Smart/Shooter.... The thing I like is that all three of those guards can guard 1 & 2. Like actually do it. I agree with the shooting issue though. Whoever the 4th guard is, he would have to be a Brian Roberts type offensive scoring expert
Popular with me. If Smart is on the board, that is the guy I want. Hands down. He can play the 1 or 2. Would fit in well for the 6th man on this team down the road.
I would cry tears of joy if we could turn EG into Dudley

So what you're saying is Dejuan basically has 4 legs?
Idk just to make the argument, I think Lance would come in and be the third best defensive player on the team. I think that is 90% of what Monty really cares about.
Oh I understand that, I guess I have really just confided myself to the fact that we are not going to be able to get rid of Gordon.

I still doubt Indiana would do the trades I proposed, but I could see a decent argument for why a contender may want Gordon, especially Indiana. He is a good spot up shooter, which Indiana desperately needs, and he would be better suited to play the point than Lance.

Not even to bring up the fact that he is way less of a basket case. And who knows maybe EG will actually be motivated to play for Indiana.

Hypothetically in a dream world: If Indiana agrees to do Lance and Copeland (who they barely played last year) in a sign and trade for EG, is there anyone here who says no? If so then why?
I'm confused, I'm assuming that Stephenson is going to get a 9-10 mil a year offer from someone. Why couldn't we do a sign in trade where Indiana gets Gordon and a second rounder, and the Pelicans get Stephenson and Lavoy Allen/Chris Copeland plus whatever other chump to make the deal work?
I honestly would do Gordon for Stephenson straight up. I think the Pels could use a crazy/bulldog tough guy type guy on the team. I could also see why Indy would want a more tame, better shooting version of Lance.

Ya I wouldn't be mad about it. Better than spending the MLE on Spencer Haws IMO. Though I'm not sure what SF is worth the MLE right now. Here is my list: 1 - Andrei Kirilenko; far behind in 2nd - CJ Miles and 3rd - PJ Tucker

re: Pelicans Wishlist: Luol Deng

Posted by jdbillio on 5/29/14 at 12:55 pm to
Oh Deng is a way better player. But I remember Posey being pretty good that first year we got him and then falling off the Titanic in production. My fear is that Deng turns out to be an Andre Iguodala type, not David West. Still good but mehhhh when you look at the price tag. You need a superb amount of athleticism to play SF in this league, you can get by without it at PF. I'd rather take a look at Tony Snell (Trade) and Richard Jefferson(FA). Those would be my top two priorities if I was Demps.

I want Loul Deng, but then I remember that time the Hornets added James Posey to a young stud filled roster, and I'm like never mind.
I really think that if the team can't get rid of EG they should just Curry him and make him sit on the bench in a suit. Here is my reason.

I was at the Brooklyn game the other night, I had never seen the chemistry for the Pelicans look so good. They looked like they really enjoyed playing with each other. If EG is not in our long term plans, why take minutes from players who are? Gelling is a real thing in the NBA, ESPECIALLY for defense. See the this years Clippers/Rockets teams.

Now that isn't really a knock on EG, I don't think he is some horrible teammate. But, Morrow brings a certain swag/edge/passion to this team that is desperately needed. He is the team hype man, this team needs that to get up for games. I think our recent success is directly related to his personal pride more so than Monty's coaching skills.

re: Ajinca changed the game

Posted by jdbillio on 3/27/14 at 9:01 am to
Exactly why Ajinca should stay on the team. The plan next year should be to start AD at the 5. If we are going against a banger a la - Hibbert, Howard, Jordan - then we should start Ajinca at the 5 and move AD to the 4.

Problem solved. Monty you can let me know when you want me to come be an assistant coach any time now.
Just turned off the game: 5 missed rebounds followed by Roberts 3pt attempt with 20 seconds left on the shot clock. I officially hate this team.

Rivers proceeds to s*!t the bed
They told him that he is fired after this season and secretly Dell is coaching the team...

I like this idea but I'm so afraid we will get Avery Johnson as his replacement... & I just couldn't handle that.

Part of me feels so sad for Granger, but the other part of me thinks he is going to stay in Philly and pad his stats so he gets more in FA.
Giveth thy Pelicans Jordan Hill or giveth them death.

I won't be to bummed if we don't get Hill now. I am just happy they are actually showing interest in him now, hopefully they can at least get him in the off season.
