While I highly doubt Madison has any inside information, Maluach makes sense based on Dumars' comments previously

As much as I would love others at 7. I think you’re right that the pick is going to be Maluach for those reasons. I don’t like it and don’t see the purpose of selecting similar bigs in back to back drafts. But what are you gonna do lol. I hope 23 is either a solid PG with size that can shoot.

fully anticipating it to be Maluach and to be absolutely bored with the pick. he might wind up being good but just not a player type that'll get people excited

Wonder if we can cook something up with the Nets who are also interested in Maluach. They have #8, #19, #26, #27, and #36

Nets: Olynyk/ Hawk/#7/ 28' 1st

Pels: #8/ Claxton/ #27

7 - Free the Knueppel

I suspect he’ll be gone, though, so I guess Fears or Maluach.

23 - I’d be stoked for any of Nique, Coward, or McNeeley. A lot of Kalkbrenner mentions but he strikes me as a second round guy.

I have come around on Knueppel and want him to be our pick now. I think there is a way to make this happen. People may not like this deal, but here is how we get it done.

Sixers get McCollum and Jones.

We get Paul George and #3.

We have picks #3, #7, and #23.

I'd take Knueppel, Jakucionis, and either Wolf or Raynaud. Since Murray is out, we'd have to start the season without a PG. But we have distributors in the line-up.

Williamson/ Knueppel/ George/ Murphy/ Missi

Off the bench, we'd have Jakucionis, Alvarado, Hawkins, Matkovic, and Wolf or Raynaud.

If we do this, we screw over the Jazz. I think that George has a couple of good years left and is an upgrade over McCollum (plus offers greater size/length). He's also an accomplished leader and can change the culture of the team, while mentoring Murphy. We need to move Murray out as soon as possible. But it's an interesting group with a lot of size and skill.

Why? The entire board was patting Griffin on the back for trading for him. Why ship him out now?

It’s not a hard decision, just draft whatever’s left of Johnson, Fears or Kon. It’s not hard.

Pels might sneak into the playoffs this season, but generally won't be competitive. There's really no reason to attach assets to Murray to dump him now. Just let him recover and slowly work him back throughout the second half of the season.

I don't think this was true. I was not for the trade. It didn't make any sense to me, unless we traded either Ingram or McCollum for him. Even then I was not sold on him being a top 3 player on a really good team. I live in Atlanta and watches him. He didn't do anything to elevate the Hawks. I figured he might be a better fit with us, but did not see him making us dramatically better.

I want to flip almost everyone, he's hurt (recovery is questionable), and he's publicly unhappy. I don't see any reason to keep him other than having no choice.

I would hope there is a more strategic vision or plan.

That’s my hope for the 7th pick (Ideally want Kon). However, they’ve been linking another Center to the Pels which I hope isn’t the case.

All of you anti center baws

You realize we have exactly 1 playable center on the roster and he’s arguably not even an average center in this league yet due to his youth?

We also play in the same division as Dallas (AD, Gaff, Lively), San Antonio (Wemby), Grizz (JJJ, Edey), and Houston (Sengun, Adams)

Karlo is a nice guy to put in and lose games with. Olynk is an aging PF. Zion never plays.

We need another big. God forbid Missi is in foul trouble or gets injured, then we would have Zero bigs on the team.

The case for Maluach…….

Span out a bit and think about next offseason. At this time next season, if we did nothing else, we would have:

PG- Murray(hopefully healthy)
SG- Herb
SF- Murphy
PF- Zion
C- Maluach/ Missi

Whatever we get at 23, CJ and Kelly coming off the books and the better of the Pels and Bucks pick in a loaded draft.

There are other guys and possibilities, but on the whole, setup pretty nicely and could even get to a maximum cap space spot if we wanted to opt out of guys like Hawkins.

Concerns include Herb going into last season, Zion decision likely by next offseason, and Murray having a player option in 27/28.

I’m not saying don’t get another big. I’m saying we can get better value at that position at 23 instead of 7. I’m saying get the guy who can play in the rotation and eventually start at 7 and then get the stretch big who can also be a good rotational player at 23.

I’ve just accepted that we’re taking Maluach. Just screams a Dumar pick.

7: Kon Knueppel: Plug and play wing that is smart, a 40% shooter from 3 and great in the pick and roll. You know what you're getting. Even if he doesn't start he will be one of the first off the bench and a building block for depth on our bench. He’d also be a nightmare with Zion on the floor with Trey, Kon and CJ to pass to.

23: Whoever is still there out of Maxime Raynaud, Damny Wolf or Thomas Sorber. We need another physical center that can rebound well. Being able to shoot the 3 would be a bonus.

I believe Khman Maluach will be the pick at 7. I expect New Orleans to DO IT BIG again this season.

Pelicans need a counter to Wemby. A mobile 7 footer is more than a luxury in the Southwest Division

I wanted Ace, his potential outweighs any fit concerns in my opinion. I think Philly will select Edgecomb, so I’m hoping for a trade with the Hornets.

With the 23rd pick, I’m just looking to add depth hopefully to the front-court.

** I really like Tre from Texas and Fears from Oklahoma

** I want no parts of Kon from Duke or VJ Edgecomb

I’m not a fan of Maluach at all, he doesn’t play to his size. Barely rebounds and gives up 45% around the rim. We barely do PnR which he excels at. He needs a ton of development.

Competitive for a championship? These losers are competing to stay out of the bottom of the league.

Jazz might Take Fears. There’s a legit scenario where we can get Tre Johnson.

1. Cooper Flagg
2. Dylan Harper
3. VJ Edgecombe
4. Kon Kneuppel
5. Jeremiah Fears
6. Ace Bailey
7. Tre Johnson
