Maybe a pretty active offseason of teams trying to move guys, with quite a few "name" players involved.
So far we have Kemba and Porzingas confirmed that teams want to move on from, now add Kuzma to that list per rumors

I know some think it'll be a quiet(er) offseason because of COVID so teams don't want to spend. I think the opposite. I think with the play-in game success and the fact that fans will be back everyone will think that they are in contention for a playoff spot and will want to engage fans to come back.
Only a few teams standout, to me, as potential rebuild candidates - Blazers, Magic (already in process), and Wolves (can see them starting fresh under the new regime). Pacers, maybe. Raptors possibly. Celtics will be interesting.

NBA executives think the Hornets will go after Jarrett Allen and Richaun Holmes in free agency, Aaron Holiday will be available, and Daniel Theis could earn more than the mid-level exception. Those notes and more with @YossiGozlan on the @hoopshype podcast

The Bulls say Coby White had surgery on his left shoulder for an injury he sustained while doing “basketball related activities” over the weekend. He will be re-evaluated in four months — meaning right before the start of the regular season, and after training camp has begun.
That last one isn't a trade rumor but you would think it increases the Bulls interest in Lonzo.
Also, I don't see the Pels going after Sexton, but I could see them becoming a facilitator if a team lacking draft assets is interested in him.

Yeah, this means there are less teams willing to sell and way more teams looking to buy.
I'm not sure we are going to make the positive changes we need to this offseason. Might have to wait until the deadline.

I’d love Jarrett Allen over Adams.

There are reasons all three are available for trade, their teams don't want them.
Porzingis and Kemba are vastly overpaid and come with huge injury risks. Kuzma is just not very good.

Raptors star Pascal Siakam underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and expected recovery and rehabilitation time for this procedure is five months.
Makes him even harder to trade.

I'd sure like to know what made him fall off a cliff this year
Posted on 6/11/21 at 12:20 pm to Soggymoss
Well the torn labrum maybe have contributed I guess.

Would be my first guess too lol

I doubt he played with that all season.

Didn’t they basically do the bubble thing this year and played all of their home games in Tampa or somewhere?

Yes, they were the Tampa Bay Raptors this season.

I just came across an article from the bull's fansided site. They proposed a trade sending Lonzo and Bledsoe to the bulls for Lauri, Thaddeus Young and Colby White. I know it's just a fan site but that seems lopsided in our direction right? We move Bledsoe. Lauri gives us a big spacer that can play with Zion or Hayes. White is a recent early pick that is cost controlled for 2 more seasons. The only thing I'm confused about is how to trade 2 restricted free agents. I assume both have to agree to contracts prior to the trade which gives the players more leverage.

Yeah I posted that story in the other thread.
I had no clue that ole Haralbob was basically a shadow GM in Dallas.
I could see how Luka wouldn't be a fan.
This seems like a leak from Luka's camp flexing a little power. That dude will be fired immediately if he wants him gone.

quote:Im not gonna be the guy that argues that Carlisle isn't a good coach.
Hmmm, interesting..
Also, seen a rumor today Carlisle is eyeing Milwaukee if Bud gets canned.
But...its incredible to me how he's managed to go a decade without winning a playoff series, with no hit to his reputation at all.

yeah i don't think Luka and Carlisle see eye to eye. Don't think they can coexist much longer.
as for Siakam, i really hated his attitude this year, but he is still a really great player i think. Obviously you have to vet the attitude issues he had this year. The shoulder injury explains his shooting pretty easily. He shot 36% from 3 the last 2 years then all of sudden shoots 30% this year, while being a pretty decent FT shooter. I'll chalk it up to the shoulder.
Even at his best, he isn't the 3 point shooter we are looking for, but he isn't terrible at it, and he can create his own shot, on top of being an elite defender.
If you can get him for relatively cheap, i'd be ok with it, although it would mean you have to be patient again this year b/c he's going to be recovering from an injury.
If we can get two good shooters at the guard position to help spread the floor with BI/Zion/Siakam as a closing unit at the 3/4/5, i think that's a really good team.
Siakam is the type of low risk chance teams like the Pels should take. Siakam is capable of guarding guys like Kawhi and Giannis, as well as AD's bitch arse. He finished 2nd to Giannis as DPOY.
Even if Jaxson turns out to be our future 5, Siakam and Zion can play the 3/4, with Siakam guarding the better player. And i do think Zion will improve defensively. Finding a PG that can defend and shoot at a high level would be imperative.
