If that was the buzzword, why do the Adams trade. I gave that very reason in the trade thread as one of the reasons along with poor value making it a bad trade. Just saddled us with a big contract with a few years on it, giving us less optionalit….

Its looking like Griff doesn’t know what he’s doing. And if he fires the coach that he took forever to hire, it’s just another black eye….

Only want as a 6th man/scorer for the second unit/ close games. I don't think he'd ever accept that role, though, and he would cost way too much

Replace Jrue with Sexton tonight for the Bucks and they win handily
What? Do you even care about the defensive side of the game? Holding Harden to 5 points is irrelevant?

They got a big endorsement from the vet they brought in to mold the kids saying this coach will be good. You know, the guy that asked to be traded right after Stan was hired.

He also apparently didn't know this team needed shooters around Zion.

He thought JJ was going to work out. I don't think anyone expected JJ to fall off like he did.

Griff's corporate buzzword for this season was "Maximum Optionality". He wasn't sure what direction he wanted to go. I do think we got some answers this season that will give Griff some direction. Just look at these playoffs for example, they seem to indicate that the offense is so far ahead of the defense that focusing so heavily on the defense is a mistake. Which is one more reason to change coaches.
If true, I have to wonder if Griff is the right man for the job. How in the world could he hire a coach simply based on JJ's recommendation? That is absurd.

Get rid of Brandon Ingram! He's a "cancer" and doesn't fit with Zion... and trading him will bring in a couple quality players!

Bro Harden couldn’t move. He wasn’t scoring on anyone. Didn’t matter if Jrue was on him or not. On the other hand, Sexton would have put 40 on the board if he had a crippled Harden and Joe Harris single covering him all game lol.

I don’t get why most everyone defends Jrue to the death on here. He’s a fine player, but he’s been an absolute liability for the Bucks in the playoffs. His best defensive play so far in this series, was losing track of Kyrie so badly on a cut that Giannis had to aggressively help on D to the point where he accidentally ended up in Kyrie’s landing zone.

And tbh, I probably still care about defense more than I should even after watching the defensive side of the ball basically mean nothing in the playoffs. For example, Look at what the Hawks are doing to great defensive teams that had homecourt advantage. And hell, look at the way the Clips had to beat Dallas. They had to outscore them bc as good as PG and Kawhi are on defense, they still couldn’t guard Luka.

I agree that it's entirely possible that we sold Jrue at his peak.

That was a great trade for us, even with Bledsoe being an anchor. And not having to pay Jrue an exorbitant contract. That trade will look better every day.

I've seen multiple threads on NBA boards saying "Man, Jrue Holiday is kind of disappointing"...

And I'm like "No, that's just Jrue Holiday." His reputation is way better than his actual play.

He's a good player. Really good defender when he's locked in. But in no way shape or form is he a max player or anything close to it.

I don't know about being a "cancer", but I don't think there is a good fit with BI and Zion. The Pels would be much better off with a secondary scoring option that was a primary ball handler, and a defensive wing next to Zion.

I don't know how close Dame and CJ are, but if they told him that and then turn around and deal him, they might as well deal Dame out also.

Either that or they gauged interest around the league and didn't get the offers they thought they would, so they're saying this to save face.

Let’s take it at face value and say CJ isn’t available.

Even less sellers which is pretty concerning when we will be desperate to buy.

Its insane for them to keep running that same team back.

I absolutely get never considering trading Dame, unless he forces it. But CJ? No clue what they're doing.
