This board pumping up Jordan fricking Poole like he moves the needles is the most Pels Talk offseason thing ever

I actually agree with Jake Madison when he said that it was pretty good asset management by turning one year of CJ into at least two of a similar caliber player making similar money

This was a smart move, but I kinda soured on CJ and wanted to trade him years ago.

But man Dumars got bent over trade value wise. First he gave up big value to get the Pacers first this year, when they won’t have 2/3 of their best players. No telling what he could have pulled with that pick now or at the deadline.

Then to combine that pick with our unprotected pick of the best of two teams is crazy. He lost big value in two trades just to land Queen. He went full retard to draft him.

And now he’s backed himself into a corner. If it goes off the rails, we could have had two picks in the top 10-12 range to start a rebuild along with Fears. And now we have zero.

Who said he's moving the needle? He clearly is better than whatever you're claiming. You're just salty as frick.

I'll be honest, I was wrong about his performance last season, he still has more data out there that he isn't good than is.

WIKSF then playing the Zion card is just some serious wishful thinking.

But that’s…..not true. After his rookie season, Jordan Poole has had four out of five seasons better than league average true shooting percentage. All five seasons over 20 points per 36. The guy is a bucket. If he could figure out how to minimize his off the dribble pull up threes to where he could increase his 3PT%, he would statistically be off the charts.

Poole is a good player and a great pickup, he just can’t single handedly fix our deficit at PG and Center. He won’t be the reason we struggle.

Dawg, he has only had 2 seasons of a PER over 16, including a 12 two seasons ago.

He is the definition of meh.

For comparison purposes, Brandon Ingram's lowest PER in his entire career with the Pels was a 16.

love that the Hawks got an A and we got an F, but we are both projected as potential play-in teams.

This is what happens when you get fleeced.

Howie Roseman and the Eagles did this to the Saints multiple times and took our Lombardi.

The Hawks will win a title in the next 5 seasons thanks to Dumars and his love of Dairy Queen.

The CJ trade for Poole and Bey was a great trade for us, not so much because Poole and Bey are amazing, but because CJ has been in a steep decline. Some of y'all don't watch or understand defense, and it shows. Of the free available impact metrics, I think that the LEBRON metric from B-Ball Index is the most accurate.

LINK

Here's what CJ looks like over the last five years:

Note that CJ's defense was so bad last season that he became a significantly below-average player overall. Now, some of that can be attributed to the people he was playing with, and the fact that some of our off-the-street scrubs didn't exactly put CJ in positions to be successful.

But not all of it. Not even close. CJ was a bad player last season, and it's clear that he's aging fast. He would have been a huge anchor on this season's team.

Jordan Poole and Saddiq Bey are both decent players. Those of you promoting Poole need to recognize that he's also a poor defender. But Poole and Bey will both be better this season than CJ, who is going to be a tank commander for Washington.

This was a trade that absolutely had to happen. The trade was excellent -- not because Poole and Bey are so great, because they aren't -- but because they're decent and CJ is just way too old and slow now.

The trace was because you shored up a starting guard and backup wing position that should make up 45 to 50 quality minutes.

Let's say we win 36 games with a solid finish. We end up slightly out of the play in. Is that a disastrous outcome?

Yes, that is absolutely a disastrous outcome. If we win 36 games, after trying our best to win all 82, that would be horrendous. If we have a solid finish, and still end with 36 wins, that means we were probably heading into the final stretch with 25-28 wins. Instead of tanking and having a decent shot at a franchise changing talent, we have nothing to show but a poor record and the ability to say, "well, atleast they tried this year."

What will we do to improve upon that record? I'd rather not be stuck in basketball purgatory with no way to improve, but repeating the same mistake next year.

And his team was horrendous. Meanwhile Dumars is gonna talk about intangibles.

Only 66 more days of people bitching until our first exhibition game in Australia. This isn't getting sad or repetitive at all..

You think this is going to get better when the games start? It's just going to get louder when this team gets off to a 5-15 start.

5-15 would exceed my expectations and be a pretty good start.
