With the Magic re-signing Goga, working on extending Isaac, and having Mo Wagner, it definitely feels like WCJ is available.

feels like whatever big they get is going to be part of an eventual Ingram deal. They really don’t have any other good options. it’s still early. I doubt they ever really were banking on a FA

Mo Bamba to the Clips. Another big off the board.

He’d be just fine at center for us and we’d be extremely difficult for anyone to match up against us on offense.
If Zion can handle the really big 5s and JSJ the smaller ones, we’d be fine.

You want a 6'6 Zion to guard 7' feet+ Centers all game, use energy to depletion all the while being physically unable from a vertical perspective to consistently challenge bigs shots and then expect, a "should be better" average rebounder to now HAVE to corral rebounds bc no JV to do so? Nevermind, the foul trouble aspect of such a task.

That's the same line of thinking that had Jrue trying to defend bigs he was just physically incapable of guarding like Giannis and Kevin Durant's of the NBA bc he's an All D defender. Put Jrue in a disadvantageous matchup and even if he manages to make them miss, he still loss because they got the rebound over him and easy putback.

Zion is not a 5. JSJ is not physically capable at this point in his career to have to be relied upon to defend the elite 5's and be a sound rebounder who routinely gets 10+ boards a game.

Bi to the kings for Barnes Heurter Carter and 2 1sts.

Flip Barnes and the firsts for Jarrett Allen

Trade CJ for Isaiah Stewart.

Murray/Carter/Jose
Herb/Hawkins/Reeves
Trey/Huerter/Ryan
Zion/Stewart
Allen/Stewart/Missi

Just surround Zion with tons of shooting.

You still have your MLE that you can use to absorb a player via trade

If we are doing a trade with Sacramento, I don't care what happens, it better have Carter coming back with a starting Center somehow in tow. I'm hoping we can have a Utah, Sacramento and Pels three-way trade that fulfills our needs beautifully. I think that is the best case scenario at this point besides the Allen trade.

Wouldn't mind WCJ as a backup to the 4 and 5, but not as my starter. Too unreliable and I shutter to envision having to utilize JRE in any significant capacity.

Yep, I’m not trading BI to SAC without getting Carter. I’m a huge fan and I think he would make up for the loss of Dyson.

More than I want to run a rookie from Baylor at Center, yes.

Hey if the rook gotta start, so be it. Gulp. We'll see if he can be considered a possibility with the Summer League schedule. Interested to see him in the 1st game and in the last against Edey.

If he does a decent job, Frick it, throw the lad out there, just like a rook Day 1 starter in the NFL. The sooner he's on the court, the better chance we have to develop him, well in advance of his 2nd contract which will be key to any championship aspirations. The time is now.

Let’s use weight instead.

Name 3 players heavier than Zion in the nba?

But if we could manage to get Carter, Kessler and Barnes, Trey Lyles and a 1st or 2 firsts, consider me good on successfully trading B.I. That would be a starting Center, another stretch 4 in Barnes and a soon to be starting caliber perimeter prospect in Carter. If Lyles is not included find another Center to backup Kessler maybe ad an inclusion to finish the Atlanta deal, bam, I would consider upgrading this team a massive success.

Murray/Jose/Carter/CJ
Herb/CJ/Hawk/Carter
Trey/Ryan/Barnes
Zion/Barnes/JRE
Kessler/Lyles or option/Missi

Move CJ at deadline for a finishing piece to win the West.

3 players weighing more than Zion?

If that is so, from a Center perspective, doesn't really bode well for Zion and his chances at a successfully healthy season, now does it?

But, whereas he's able to hold his ground physically, the difference in heights are too great for him to defend adequately at an average level. Besides that, where's our rim protection and deterrent? Zion is good with help side blocks but on-ball with a severe height disadvantage, I haven't seen it, bc it hasn't occurred. He would be less of a rim protector than JV. Cmon man.

We need a starter and a backup, pretty sure he would be the backup

There aren’t enough big centers for it to make that big of a difference.
There’s two that matter. Jokic and Embiid.
Keeping big guys away from the basket is how you defend and you do that with strength, not height.

And I’m not advocating Zion or JSJ play the 5 for 48 minutes. We still need a big body 5.

When there’s 6 minutes left in the game, I want to go “small”.

Rim protection starts with good perimeter defense.
Zion, Trey and JSJ are all capable of weakside help blocks. When you play good on ball defense and prevent easy runs to the rim, those blocks are easier to come by.

I'd be cool with using TPE on Kessler, taking in WCJ, signing Wiseman to a min, and still able to get another player S&T for 15-20 mil.

Zion/ WCJ/ Wiseman
Kessler/ WCJ/Wiseman/ Missi
