For now. Need to either sign a center- and trade someone by deadline or trade BI for center now.
I’m referring to the tax in 23-24 if we did this trade prior to the new season.

Really upset to see Dyson go but you cannot argue how great the value was for that trade. Some said BI + Dyson for Murray....
Hope Dyson has a great career and this trade shows they really valued him highly.
Crazy that we still have BI to trade.
Great move Griff, now get us a damn center.

Man some of y'all need to understand that CJ is not being moved this off-season. It's crazy how some are trying to move a 40% high volume 3pt shooter.
I don't want to move him, but at this point in time he's becoming aged out, esp if the rumors of them trying hard to keep Ingram. Someone has to go if we're getting a veteran center. Fit is important, but value is too.
McCollum 33
Murray 28
Ingram 27
Jones 26
Alvarado 26
Williamson 24
Murphy 24
Hawkins 22
Now I like the idea of Kessler because honestly, if Utah just want picks..we can surely give them picks and a body (JRE for example) and straight up call it a tax team moving forward. The question is, from this war chest, how much do we have to give up?
This is our war chest over the next 5 years:
2025 Milwaukee 1st (1-4), NOLA 1st
2026 Milwaukee Swap, NOLA 1st
2027 Milwaukee or New Orleans 1st
2028 NOLA 1st
2029 NOLA 1st
2030 NOLA 1st
Starting 5: Murray-Jones-Ingram-Williamson-Kessler
Bench: McCollum-Murphy-Alvarado-Missi
Filler spots: Hawkins-Reeves-whoever else

We still hold JV’s bird rights lol. Maybe having Murray around could unlock JV and convince him to stay. He’s an old school big and old school bigs need true PGs to thrive. If Gayle is willing to pay the tax for a couple seasons until CJ and JV expire I don’t see why we wouldn’t try to resign him. It’s the simplest path to filling the whole at the 5 spot.

does trading Ingram for a starting C make sense?
seeing as we only have 1 center now, the guy we just drafted, i can almost assure you we are about about to trade BI for a C...
Jarret Allen or Nic Claxton would be my guess

Unless he comes back for less than 4 million we cannot afford him currently, we only have 10 million available to spend and 4 spots that need to be filled, depending on what kind of contract we give Reeves
Murray/CJ/Jose
Herb/Hawk/Ryan
Ingram/Trey/?
Zion/JRE
Missi/?/?

I believe its actually:
25' 1st (Pels)
26' 1st (Pels)
27' 1st (Bucks)
28' 1st (Pels)
29' 1st (Pels)
30' 1st (Pels)
31' 1st (Pels)
We can legally trade (4) 1st
So our "war chest" for the future is really CJ + BI + Hawk + (4)1st if we keep everyone else.
Trade BI for a Center and 1-2 1sts then we have:
CJ + Hawk + 5-6 1sts to get another star if needed.

Trade BI to Philly for the rights to McCain, Bona and 2 1sts.
That creates a TPE that we can go to Cleveland, give them picks and take in Jarrett Allen
Lineup would be
Murray/herb/trey/zion/allen
With Cj Hawkins MCcain Missi Bona off the bench

I feel there is a Johnathan Isaac and Jalen Suggs for Brandon Ingram trade that can make both teams better.

What we needed more than anything is a guy that has the ball in his hands in the last 5 minutes and go and take over the game by himself and win us a game. Murray has done that and he will do that here. Too many times the last few years we've been in clutch time and nobody took over the game and it resulted in turnovers and BI taking awful contested shots. Now we have our most clutch player with the ball when it matters

I’m really not sure he should start
getting Murray, i highly doubt CJ is going to be starting... Murray is your starting PG, Herb at the 2, Trey at the 3, Zion at PF, and soon to be acquired C
CJ will likely be the 1st off the bench, and will still get plenty of minutes, but at this point in his career, he's not a starting caliber player anymore.... and that's ok!

In my crack pot world that would never happen, I would trade BI for Allen and Strus, and CJ for Isaac.
Allen/Isaac
Zion/Isaac
Trey/Strus
Herb/Hawk
Dejounte/Jose
Allen/Isaac
Zion/Isaac
Trey/Strus
Herb/Hawk
Dejounte/Jose

I would do all this, but take out Bona and swap him for Paul Reed. Reed began shooting 3’s last season and can play the 4 if/when needed, and as the primary small ball 5 would allow time for Pels to develop Missi

Have not been this excited about a trade since the cousins trade
Posted on 6/28/24 at 7:34 pm to chRxis
More likely Cj to the 2 and Herb to the 3. Murphy closes out game at the small ball 5.

I'd personally trade:
BI for John Collins + Kessler + 1-2 picks
CJ for Suggs + Isaac
Resign Naji
Worst case scenario is that you have Suggs + Hawk + (5) 1st to trade and get a better fit. I think that's enough to work with. Both have a pretty high ceiling.

Can’t believe I’m rooting for the lakers to be decent this year

This move will be huge for Hawkins. The CJ and Hawkins pair was tough for Willie to play. But with Murray, you can pair him up with Hawkins and be able to hide him a bit without having to go to a defensive heavy lineup.

really like this trade I’ve always envied teams with players like Murray, he’s an a-hole on the court. Last few years in SAS he was a full on star. He won’t have to compete for the ball here, he’s a decent shooter and a plus defender. And he’s a big MFer.
Pels have him under contract for 4 plus a PO. This is a nice nice move and they really didn’t give up anything they need. I’d rather have Murray than the lakers pick, Dyson and herb were never going to work together and nance is done. I hope Dyson kills it in ATL
Good nite for pels fans
