I find it more likely they keep and start CJ than trade or bench him. Especially now with Dejounte. Griff knows we need shooting. Regular season CJ is still very good. I just don’t see us trading him this offseason. Maybe all star break or next summer.

Agreed. I’d be very surprised if he is moved this off-season.

With JV house for sale and this trade getting us another shooter, does trading Ingram for a starting C make sense?

What Center should the pelicans be looking for

Don’t know if it matters but EJ included in trade as well.

Pretty sure we were very close to the tax this season, if we sent out Nance and Dyson alone and took back Murray’s contract I think we may go a bit over, by sending out EJ we probably stay out of the tax for 23-24

This is what makes me like the trade. We’re still able to make waves. I think even if you don’t get a center, BI can go for assets just so you get Trey in the starting lineup.
same I would have been annoyed if it was Bi for Murray. But this makes it more fun and interesting to actually improve

Can't see Pels having over $55M in the point position next season. The next move should be CJ to Orlando for Mo Wagner. Wagner should be available with DaSilva being drafted. If not Mo then Stewart or Robinson.
Brandon said the Pels needed a point last season. Now the team has one. Now Z needs to develop an outside shot!

For now. Need to either sign a center- and trade someone by deadline or trade BI for center now.

Now the downside in this is that Murray is a meh-to-bad 3-point shooter and isn't that great of a distributor if the plan is for him to run point.

Murray’s last season in San Antonio he averaged 9.2 assists a game with no weapons around him. Since going to Atlanta he’s averaged over 6 assists a game playing primarily off ball with Trae. He’s a pretty fricking good distributor.

Yeah, there's no way that we trade CJ now. Getting a true PG in Murray means that CJ can play SG, which is what he did for all of his Portland career.

Man some of y'all need to understand that CJ is not being moved this off-season. It's crazy how some are trying to move a 40% high volume 3pt shooter.

I don’t want to move him but I’m really not sure he should start

He can close games and pushes CJ off ball especially in the final 5 minutes. That's all I care about. Will be nice to have a rim pressure guard that can get the ball in traffic down low.

If we trade CJ McCoullum for Mo Wagner we should sell the franchise to Seattle, burn the arena to the ground, and outlaw basketball in Orleans parish. You’re too dumb to insult. I really think 80% of the 50 guys who post here don’t watch a lick of basketball at all. You all base your opinions on what was going on in the nba back in 2011.

If we aren't trading BI, then Hawk is that only other asset that we could use.

I don't think that Utah would likely be especially interested in Hawk for Kessler, but that's the kind of thing that we would have to do if we somehow kept BI.

Obviously, this trade today makes a BI trade even more likely.

Unless we trade BI to a cap space team where we take back 10 million or more less than sending out, no way we’re avoiding the tax this season.

Now that I’ve settled down a little bit, not that bad of a trade. I feel we overpaid slightly and it definitely does not move the needle for this team, but we would at least win a playoff game or two last year if we had Murray. B grade for Pels IMO, B+ for sending Lidell’s bum arse in it

I’m going to miss the Nance memes. Hope we sign Tyus as our backup PG.

Won't miss Willie playing him 30+ minutes while we watch him struggle.
