Its lower ceiling in most cases, but its also higher floor. For every Manchester by the Sea, where it makes 100+ million and cost just 9 mil to make, there are a ton of low budget movies without huge stars and superheroes that just don't make back their money.
Conversely, you do a crap superhero movie with a star and you are guaranteed to make your money back. Just a question of how many times over.
Kevin Love is like making Lethal Weapon 5 with Gibson and Glover. You think it’s a fun idea cause it used to be great, but no one gives a frick anymore.
I have a sinking feeling Pels are gonna pull some stunt like
MEM: Randle, Niko, Hill, Pels 2019 1st (top 3 protected)
NO: Conley, J. Holiday

I think a big is more likely than a perimeter guy. Mostly because I think they know they are getting perimeter guys back in an AD trade. I'd give Blake, Love, or Boogie being Pelicans a better chance than an Otto Porter or a Conley, etc.
But we shall see.
But we shall see.

Love is a lose lose. He's expensive, hurt almost literally all the time and he is FAR from a big name. No thanks on all the other names floated out but a love deal makes zero sense even from a ticket sales standpoint. It's not 2012.

Can Blake Griffin and Jah Okafor work together ? Asking for a friend. Lol

I’ve never liked Griffin, but I’d love to get him.

Blake Griffin to the Pelicans completely kills this team. That's one of the most handcuffing salaries in the NBA. Under no circumstances should there even be consideration of this.

I’d love to get J Smoove back on the court to drop the hammer on him again.

If we trade for Kevin fricking Love’s over the hill, injury prone arse, I’m going to have a very hard time renewing and I pretty much said it’s virtually impossible for me not to be there next year. Kevin Love is the other side of virtually impossible.

We need someone people want to go watch. Cousins, Kristaps, or Griffin would be fine. Dont know if many casual fans would drop 300 bucks to watch Tatum and Jrue. Not saying they arent really good players because they are but they arent names to casual fans.

I’m with you on the Love deal. I don’t want him

I immediately thought of Sony’s Venom movie.

Good, fun, popcorn flick.
ETA: can’t wait for the sequel with Carnage and hopefully Spidey.

New Orleans is a poor city and the only way to get people to the games is via winning. That's it. There's no marketing that's going to save this team. There's no all-star reserve with a name that's going to save this team. It's going to come down to straight winning games. Lose for a year and a half and then you're good to go for the next 10 years.

Fans just want to freaking win. If you can field a team that can compete late into the year and stay around the 8th seed, they’ll be fine. In fact, the fans around here love people like them. Blue collar young guys playing their arse off is the type of team this city would rally behind, especially after Mr Big Shot told the city we weren’t good enough.

Winning will get people to the arena.
Someone will inevitably lead the team in scoring. That player will be marketable to the casual fan, even if he's not a top-10 talent.

I just want to know in what world Kevin Love is a name that draws fans? Who honestly would go to a game with Kevin love on our roster that wouldn't go otherwise?
The type of people glad the "star" is a white guy? Not trying to be inflammatory but like I said, it's not 2012 anymore. Who are the people that Kevin Love is drawing them to a game?

Need a face to put on bill boards and marketing. One guy I think that could be perfect is Kristaps. I just keep going back to him as number one on the wish list.
